Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump backed down Friday from claims that he would order the U.S. military to waterboard militants and carry out other acts that violate international law, as the top general in the U.S. military was asked to weigh on Trumps previous remarks.

He’s going to have a new position on this subject too soon.
He lives in an alternative universe.
He’s naive if he thinks he can order service members to violate the law and they’ll comply. This is where his years of experience in the sexual revolution that he compared to a Vietnam experience just haven’t prepared him.
He’s learning as he goes. He believes he’s ready to OJT in the White House; it’s no big thing for a guy like him because he’s sooooooooooo smart.
I’m not surprised. He’s continue to hold two opposite and contradictory positions on the same issue. This he has done on quite a few things. He’s malleable, as Jimmy Carter said. His respect for the voters is so high that he doesn’t feel any obligation to come down on just one side. It’s brilliant and exactly what appeals to some of his supporters; they like that he’s not so weak that he takes one position on an issue. They don’t like it if people notice it and quote him arguing with himself. That, they tell us, is lying. But Trump being on both sides, they say, is manly.
I agree. I disagreed with the Dems in both Houses who decided to call it torture.
It’s solicitation if your allies have initiative.
That’s just not the way The Donald rolls.
