I never trust the Paper of Propaganda. Trump may have said something embarrassing or he may have said nothing off the record. If the New York Slimes is lying, it could easily fabricate an off-the-record statement. So maybe Trump did say something about not meaning what he says about immigration, but I'm not taking the New York Times's word for it.
