Better vp choice than Little Marco Mondale (of course, almost anyone would be)

Worked in Reagan cabinet, legit war hero, foreign policy cred.

I'm surprised Jim Webb is a Democrat to be honest. I certainly don't agree with him on everything, but it's clear to me the man loves this country, is a Patriot and has integrity.

Again, not that I agree with him on everything and not that I'd vote for him, I just view him as having integrity. My own opinion of course.

The Dems have moved so far left, that it left a massive swath of voters that are not comfortable with either Bernie or Bernette, and are ripe for the picking.

And it's those voters that are swinging for Trump. As predicted.

... incorrectly. Trump is doing quite well among conservatives.

Democrat swing voters and Conservatives swinging to Trump are not mutually exclusive. :-)

True. I just get annoyed with people (not you, as far as I know), who pretend that Trump is attracting solely “liberals” because he is a “New York liberal”, and conveniently ignore how strong his support is amongst conservative voters, and conveniently ignore how strong his support is in traditionally conservative regions of this country, and conveniently ignore how many prominent in-the-trenches conservatives have endorsed him.

I may have misunderstood your point. Trump is reassembling the Reagan coalition (a coalition which has periodically resurfaced for individual elections, but which hasn’t, until now, appeared under a single standard-bearer). That coalition includes relatively non-ideological Democrats and independents, who aren’t really liberal, yet hate/distrust the Republicans.

So, not sure if you misunderstood my point or not. I can repeat what I said some months ago now here on FR:

Donald Trump's appeal extends to the Democrat party, specifically to the Union workers (not the Union leadership) being the blue-collar voters.

Trump also appeals to the Blue-Dog and Yellow-Dog Democrats for many of the same reasons he appeals to the Blue Collar democrats. Add in the right-of center Democrats and I think we're seeing the rebuilding of the Reagan Coalition -- not so coincidentally for the same reasons: jobs, foreign affairs, America's status in the world are all in massive states of disarray. The anxiety around these three propelled Reagan to victory.

"Make America Great Again" is rooted in Reaganism. Trump pulled off a master stroke of genius in branding his campaign this way. Not that I'm calling Trump "Reagan" because clearly Trump IS NOT Reagan. Not even close, not by a mile. Trump has however, branded a movement clearly, succinctly, and created a powerful rallying cry.

These same folks, combined with a massive base of pissed off Conservatives (with a healthy mix of Evangelicals) are making up the modern day Reagan Coalition.

I'm old enough to remember the split in Evangelical's back in 1980 when Jerry Falwell endorsed Ronald Reagan. Many Evangelicals were very upset that he didn't endorse Jimmy Carter because Carter is a Christian. Sound familiar?

There were also a minority in the Republican Party who endorsed Reagan over the "preferred" candidate George H.W. Bush which caused a party rift ahead of the Convention. Again, sound familiar?

I think the parallels are there, that does NOT imply in any way that Trump is another Reagan however.

I, too, remember that, though I was young. You are definitely seeing the same thing that I am, so I can safely say that I definitely did misunderstand your point.

Trump is no Reagan, but while Trump doesn’t share some of Reagan’s strengths, Trump has strengths of his own. I just hope that, if all goes well, and Trump successfully rebuilds the Reagan coalition, that he learns from the mistakes of Reagan (Reagan was not perfect, although I think he was clearly the best President of the post-civil war era).

First: never, ever trust DC establishment types.

Second: never, ever put troops somewhere without a clear idea of what they are doing there, and how you will get them out.

Third, and most importantly: never, ever, follow the “11th commandment”. Republicans, by and large, were Reagan’s enemies, and yet he thought he needed them. Indirectly, Reagan gave us: Bush-Dole-Bush-McCain-Romney, in addition to a revitalized Republican establishment. Had he chosen a vice president who was not establishment, things may have turned out quite differently.

Selecting Bush was Reagan’s biggest mistake, and one that still haunts us today.

No...I want Trump to take NEW YORK...the election would be over at 9:01pm, before stunned media pimps jump out of their windows.

Made me laugh.

So, is this the start of the #NeverHillary movement in the Democrat party?

I would guess that about 50% of Bernie's voters are really taken in by his "Democratic Socialism." The rest are just Democrats who don't want Hillary.

Now if only they'd refuse to turn out and vote for her in November, we'd be all set. In fact, Bernie supporters have every reason to be PO'd: Hillary's delegate count is about 4-5 times his. Almost the entire difference is due to Superdelegates voting for whom the DNC tells them to vote.

Jim Webb’s Pedophile Writing

I guess that following your reasoning, the author of a murder novel is either himself a murderer or approves of murder.

Rape, including child rape, happens a lot in wartime. Writing about it in a realistic work of fiction is perfectly legitimate, unless you demand all fiction to be fodder for Lifetime movies of the week.

Exactly. We’ll just forget about:

Because, you know, Trump.

Cruz just picked up endorsements from Lindsay Graham and Bruce Jenner. I wouldn’t be worrying about Trump if I was you. LOL.
