At this stage of the ‘12 race, Romney had not amassed enough delegates to capture the nomination, either. What, if anything, is your point?
By the convention, Romney did have a clear majority. All of this soap opera drama is predicated on the notion the Trump might not get that majority. If he does, this whole conversation is moot. If he doesn’t the party is entitled to search for a consensus candidate that can. That is my only point.
