New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez will endorse Marco Rubio's presidential campaign Thursday.
"Marco Rubio is a compelling leader who can unite the country around conservative principles that will improve the lives of all Americans," the Republican governor said in a statement given to Politico. "The stakes for our great country are too high and the differences between the candidates too great for me to remain neutral in this race. I wholeheartedly trust Marco to keep us safe and ensure a better tomorrow."
The endorsement from Martinez, the chair of the Republican Governors Association and the nation's only Latina governor, comes at a crucial period of time for Rubio, who won only one state during Super Tuesday.
Martinez, whose name has also been floated as a possible GOP vice presidential pick, will be with Rubio on the campaign trail in Kansas on Friday and at a rally in Jacksonville, Fla., on Saturday.
She is a company gal, doin’ the company’s bidness
Nothing like buying a ticket on the Titanic as it is sinking.
Una amiga loco......
Yeah, these late endorsements of 3pMarco baffle me.
LOL If i had read down to your post, I would have never posted mine.
We were thinking the same thing!
Oh! the GOPe got the wheels spinning round & round today...
Pushing all-in for Cabana Boy and trying to make some hay...
Oh! Susanna, Oh don’t you cry for thee,
For Kid Rubio hails from Florida and hums on his knees...
Pouring tequila over her corn flakes at breakfast is not working out for her.
This is a good example of political tone deafness. She’s going to get back on a dead horse. LOL!
well, timing is everything! and her’s is terrible!
Oh, Susana, you’re a sellout I can see.
Kissing your career goodbye, shilling for the GOPe
(Sorry, the muse struck me) :)
Is this DOPe going to be up for re-election at some point??
If so she just committed political suicide.
Wordsmith indeed! Kudos!
Push “1” for Spanish!
Of course, her name is Martinez!
“Decent but gulible?”
I think that is not an unfair thing to say, although she really is in a hard place — the feds own most of the land in NM (and are asshats about it) and with oil down, the military/federal jobs are among the better jobs in the state (We build and test cool bombs and missiles here. Think ROSWELL.)
I think her actual tendency would be Cruz, but she is doing what she has to do in a libertarian/liberal/conservative state.
You call that news?
The word around the internet the last few days is that Janet Murguia has officially endorsed Rubio, finally.
And, just to add to the excitement, Alicia Garza, Patrisse Cullors and Opal Tometi are organizing mobs in support of Ted Cruz...
Get the popcorn, hold on to your seats, things are about to get very exciting!
Don't expect any disavowals any time soon...
“f one is a slut for the Open Borders lobby, then one is indeed a slut for the Open Borders lobby. EZ call.”
She’s actually really strong on immigration and shut down driver’s licenses for illegals after much to do.
New Mexico is a majority Hispanic/Indian state, but they are Hispanics of SPANISH origin where the border crossed them — they did not cross the border. Outside of uber-liberal Sante Fe (which is CA transplants), they very much look down on Mexicans.
New Mexico is merely a way point along the path for illegals — they just stop here to steal, rob, and carry drugs.
So, no, she’s not pro-open borders. She’s in a state owned, lock, stock, and barrel by the federal government.
And she’s is SO MUCH better than what we’ve had before (e.g., Bill Richardson), I can’t even start.
Nope. See my post above. Not how it works here.
Please at least support Cruz Gov. Martinez.
There goes her credibility with patriots.
Adding to my post above, Indians (e.g., my wife who was born and raised on the Mescalero Apache reservation) fricking hate Mexicans, way worse than Anglos.
Good way to get your ass beat in NM is to speak Spanish to an Indian.
I think natives make up 20-30% of our state. Large group.
