I’ve always been taught the term “War of Independence” because it began with the forcible removal of colonial self-government and culminated with a declaration of independence, and the former imperial government had not been disestablished but remained in situ and in power over in Westminster, albeit replaced with a domestic government.
This writer’s comparison of the electorate to the Incredible Hulk is apropos—it is about rage. Pure rage.

Nice analogy, I had not though of it that way, but it does explain a lot. Everyone getting money from the government (that was first taken away from someone else) has an interest in supporting that government.
But what is going to happen when they run out of other people’s money?
I did not suggest total destruction of the central government.
I suggested moving the center-of-gravity from DC back to the States. Most of what goes on in DC is outside the powers granted by the US Constitution. And 1/2 of what goes on in DC could be eliminated today and no one outside of DC would ever miss it.
Rather, it is the “American Revolution” Part 2.
There is no "citizens choice". Hillary is the closest to being the "choice" with one half of one half of the votes so far. Trump is next with one third of one half. Anyone who thinks there is an overwhelming choice yet needs to put their pitchfork down.
This is more like a second American Revolution. Remember, the origianal tea party was not a friendly social event.

Obama has bred total chaos as a mean to an end. He has consistently sought to destroy all stability in order to gain total control.
This will not end well.
I want no part of a Revolution, I want a restoration of Constitutional Government. That will require some major surgery in DC and lots of trials.

When they start comparing Trump to Hitler and his supporters to French Revolutionaries, you know they are truly losing it.

Liberals usually call it the War of Independence. Their point of view is from the Monarchy. They have not moved beyond that, even today. Liberals, aka Tories, aka Federalists, aka Democrats are not egalitarian and do not embrace the principles of the Constitution or accept the political revolution it represents.
Boston remained firmly under British control throughout the Revolutionary war. The NE was for the most part majority-Tory.
