So how did the delegate selection work without a presidential poll?
We gathered I our precinct, went through local business and caucus business (officers for the evening, etc..) the nominations for 4 delegates, 2 alternates. I was elected as a delegate to the Jefferson Co convention as a delegate along with 5 others. The real race was for delegate/alternate since we had 6 people running. We didn’t have to state who we supported , but we all did. 4/6 supported Cruz as #1, and one each chose Rubio and Trump as #1. It was all very civil. The Cruz people came out on top. Out of us 6, 2 go as delegates and 2 as alternates to both the 7th CD and same 2 and 2 to the CO State a Republican convention. I and another gentleman were both the delegates to the 7th CD and CO state delegates after a further two elections. The alternates to these two conventions: the 7th CD and State convention final results were 3 Cruz people and 1 Trump person. NEXT step is the State and 7th CD district conventions. Where electors will ACTUALLY be nominated and elected to the National Republican Convention. So it’s not settled yet, but I go onto the next step to support Cruz! It’s all very retail politics and my first caucus.
