Someone got the idea that Mitt Romney should stand up and take on the mantle of the Republican leader.

In 2012, that was appropriate. In 2016, it isn't.

Donald Trump is the party leader at this point. He is leading in the primary/caucus season, and he has a right to his views being the prevailing ones as long as the public agrees to it. And THEY DO!

In 2012 Romney fought mightily for the nomination. Gifted with GOPe support, he prevailed. And then he led us on a wonderful fight against Obama.

I'm sure you'll be able to look back fondly on Romney's blistering attacks. Here are a few of my favorites that I can recall right off the top of my head. Feel free to add your own.

1: ".............................................."

That one really stopped Obama in his tracks.

2: "................................................................................."

I still laugh when I look back on that one.

3: "...................................................................."

And this third one! That should have put an end to the Obama gravy train!

How Obama withstood these withering attacks, I just don't know.

Truth is, I don't know how we could wind up with folks like McCain and Romney, with hardly a whimper, and come unglued at the seams with Trump. There were SERIOUS road markers along the way. Our party ignored them to champion them. And yet, today, with an accomplished man, look at the venom. Don't you think this is a bit much?

Myth as I like to reference him (because he rumored to have once run against Obama, although you couldn't prove it by me), wasn't able to win California(55), Florida(29), New York(29), Illinois(28), Ohio(20), or Pennsylvania(20). It takes 270 electoral votes to win the general election. Romney spotted Obama these 180 electoral votes up front.

Now it appears that the RNC may not just be content to use Romney as a spokesperson, but may in fact want him to run again. Oh joy. Here Hillary, we wouldn't want to be unfair to a "Lady". Take these 180 electoral votes.

Mitch McConnell and others have put it on the record. They'd rather have Hillary than Trump.

Those who detest Trump have sunk lower and lower and lower. Some of them were folks who have been well respected Conservatives and now find their fellow travelers wanting them to vote for Hillary Clinton.

At what point, will folks finally wake up and take note of what is going on here?

Is this what True Conservatism has come to mean to you? Do you think that just maybe there was some logic behind some of us trying to tell you that you were aligning with some of the worst of the worst, unwittingly?

We now have leaders in the Republican party lofting Hillary as a preference? Get it yet?

When I first posted the graphic below, it was intended to make you think. Instead it seemed to push some of you even deeper into your denial. Wake the hell up!

The effect of having Romney in your corner is probably very similar to having Glenn Beck’s endorsement.

Regardless, better get ready for the Hildebeast presidency.

Here’s an idea.

Want to stump the Trump? Pass a bill that requires the building of the wall to commence tomorrow. This will stump the Trump!

Muddog...here is the creep. Walk around looking like that in my town and someone will wipe that smirk off your face before you pass the first saloon.

His glorious bio: (How is it these guys fail and fail and fail and yet keep getting paid? Oh...because...REPUBLICAN.)

Ryan Williams has worked at the highest level of politics, most recently serving as a deputy national press secretary for Governor Mitt Romney’s campaign for president. In that role, Williams acted as a spokesman for the campaign.

During the 2012 election cycle, Williams also managed communications for Governor Romney’s successful primary and caucus campaigns in New Hampshire, Maine, Florida, Nevada, Ohio, Illinois and Wisconsin.

Williams previously served as communications director of the New Hampshire Republican State Committee under former Governor John H. Sununu and as a communications staffer on former Senator John E. Sununu’s 2008 reelection campaign.

He also managed candidate and surrogate interviews for Governor Romney’s 2008 presidential campaign after serving in the governor’s state house press office and for his gubernatorial campaign in 2002.

So, if I lay out the case FOR Trump, can I have a press conference, too?

We both have the same number of delegates in this Presidential election. Exactly zero.

True enough Jane. Like many FReepers who anguished over their choices in 2012, I (like our Founder) put my own personal political preferences aside and I voted the GOP ticket, even though I had been one of the premiere Romney bashers, thrashers and trashers, I took a backseat to nobody. But I believed that my personal opinions had to take a back seat to what was best for our Nation (which was to try and prevent another 4 year term for the illicit Obamunist regime that has been working non-stop to destroy America).

But for all of his flaws (and we all know he's got 'em), I did not believe that he could possibly be worse than that foul sack o' Kenyan fecal matter that had been stinkin' up the White House since 2009.

Hindsight is indeed, 20/20 however in retrospect I don't believe Romney hates America like Emperor Barky does, but his policies would have only meant that instead of heading towards the cliff at 100+ mph, Romney would only have slowed our national trajectory to around 60 mph or thereabouts.

But now? I wouldn't take the proverbial whiz on that jerk if he were running down the street on fire.

It’s funny. RINOs like Romney are troopers when their establishment-loser friends are getting their way. They expect us to hold our nose and vote for them and their loser ilk.

But when the shoe is on the other foot..... I am so tired of Willard and his GOP-e buddies.

He’ll probably do that just before the debates just so the reporterette/moderators have something “new” to ask.

What an asshat.

I also heard unconfirmed rumors that there was an effort to get trump riled so that he could be escorted off the stage (that would provide WEEKS of optics, if remotely true) I would not be surprised at any dirty trick by the GOPe. We’ve already seen/heard of a number of them ready to vote for Hillary, so anything is possible in that seemingly bottomless pit of dirty tricks.

Just seeing Willard Romney on TV angers me. It is pretty much the same reaction I have to seeing Obama.

Whatcha wanna bet this is a concerted effort to push every trigger on Trump's psyche, hoping the very sight of Romney talking to America will make him appear "emotional." Trump needs to contact Tony Robbins, the behavioral life coach guy.

If you know nothing at all about Willard, here’s all you need to know. He’s the father of queer “marriage” in the United States, when as governor signed the queer “marriage” into law without the people voting on it. He’s also the father of ObamaCare, which is almost a carbon copy of RomneyCare from his days as the liberal gov of Mass. And this towering “conservative” leader of the party was endorsed by the establishment and NRO thought he was the greatest thing since peanut butter.

If the GOPe continue this infighting, they can kiss their party goodbye. By any means possible (and legal) the Dems must be kept out of the White House. The future of the Supreme Court … and our country … depends on it.
