“If Trump has majority, even if not 1237, at convention he will be nominated for POTUS. But he will have to allow establishment to choose his VP.”
If Trump falls short of 1237, and is denied the nomination even though he is overwhelmingly the people’s choice he may be able to splinter the party. If Trump, Cruz, Christie, Gingrich, Sessions, Lee, 10-15 other Senators, 30-40 house members, and 10-15 conservative Republican governors bolted to form a third party, they might lose in 2016 (as would what is left of the GOP) but would be positioned to run a strong national campaign in 2020. In a three party system - socialist Democrats, liberal statist globalist Republicans, and conservative nationalists - the conservative party could be competitive in presidential races and would be the swing power block in the House and Senate. A three party system could be the best way to preserve the Republic in the face of demographic shifts the Democrats hope to take advantage of, through ethnic block voting, to create a one party state.

Most likely the GOP won’t steal the nom outright from Trump. They need some deniability otherwise the party implodes.
I see Senator Sasse is already bleating on twitter about supporting a “constitutionalist” 3rd party candidate. Interesting choice of words, IMO. Maybe he listens to Levin, I don’t know. They’ve obviously already poll tested this.
