If I thought for a moment that Trump is actually a sincere convert, and not a uniparty kayfabe candidate deployed against Ted Cruz, I might be open to his promises. But, to my ear and my sensibilities he looks like nothing more or less than someone designed to co-opt the genuine Constitutionalist in the race and ensure the continuing ascendancy of the statist cabal.
Then why Trump? Why not just let Bush win by himself? The whole primary system was rigged for that, and it would have worked... until Trump showed up and up-ended the table.
Trump is NOT the GOPe’s fallback position, he is their worst enemy - someone who isn’t of them or controlled by them.
I don’t care. I’ve voted in state and Fed elections for decades, and what did I get? Breyer, Kennedy, Roberts, Obama budget deals with no concessions, tripling of unfunded mandates...need I go on? All with the complicity of the same party ellites who tell me I must vote for a true Conservative. I’ll vote for the pit bull.
