Let mores shift a bit, such as with regard to sanctity of life, and we find this attitude coming right back down the road at us with the likes of Roe v. Wade and “righteously” defended too!
Small scale, local freedom based answers tend to work better in the long run. Getting ordinances in cities is a quiet revolution that trying for a statewide law would never achieve. It might only plug 80% of the hole but that’s better than plugging none of it, because the answer was wished on willfully recalcitrant big cities too.
