I will just post the link because under the author's name it states Bloomberg View even though this is on Chicago Tribune's website.

I think you nailed it.
And I don't think either Cruz nor Rubio at this point can establish the credibility that Trump has on the issues. They would be Johnny come lately at best.
My experiece, too. Cruz was my strong Number 2 choice. But each day that passes, he slides lower and lower.
Agreed.
I was very disappointed that Ted didn’t see it was in his best interest to align with Trump.
Going down with Rubio who will stick a knife in his back as soon as look at him was a grave miscalculation.
Rubio is such a pissant . I used to pay attention to what he said somewhat . Not anymore . He’s permanently off my list if focus or attention . Can’t wait until the little peon just goes away . can’t get the ‘foam party’ imagery out of my context for him either . Sickening
Nothing against Rubio. Actually I think he was quite funny. And if you’re going to go out why not go out with a bang. So it was a good try it was a memorable try but it was a failed try
Some say that topic has always interested Rubio. “Not that there is anything wrong with it”.
Really? The campaign staff is supposed to check the backgrounds of everyone in every ad? While some candidates would say, "oh, I recognize her from _____", I prefer a candidate who would not recognize a woman from porn (does anyone recognize a porn star from her face?). Also, not all her work was topless (or whatever, I didn't watch her work to see what it was like) - she had legitimate acting credits too. The idea that the acting background of one actress from many dozens of commercials should reflect on the candidate seems like far too high a standard.
As for Beck, he has a large following, and Cruz needs the publicity. I'm not a Beck fan and haven't listened to him for more than five minutes total in my life, but I don't see Beck as a problem either. Your objections to Cruz (my first choice) strike me as equivalent to rejecting Trump (my second choice) because of his vague comments on David Duke and his hinted at and possibly ambiguous comments on Amnesty in an off the record interview with the NYT.
Look at the whole record of both Trump and Cruz. They're both reasonable but imperfect choices. Look at the whole record of Rubio, and he is disqualified by the sustained positions he has unambiguously taken. Look at the whole record of Kasich, and he is also disqualified by the sustained positions he has unambiguously taken. To demand perfection is to reject everyone you examine in sufficient detail.
Sorry, that one is pretty obvious. You’re making ads, you ask a few simple questions.
Cruz is an insider, and is rightly viewed as such by the American people as he loses on a massive scale today.
It makes Rubio look even smaller, if that’s possible.
The joke is on you if you think Trump will deliver on any of his heated rhetoric, or even cares about any of it. These are merely issues that he and his advisors figured would derail Ted Cruz - the man the elites REALLY fear.
Because so may of us are so easily beguiled by trumpery, we now face the immediate threat of the final loss of the Republic. Thanks a lot for nothing.
Even more funny that little marco seems to have first hand knowledge of the size relationship.
“He’s a disco dancin’, Oscar Wilde readin’, Streisand ticket holdin’ friend of Dorothy.”
Yea, but that guy was a decorated war vet like McCain.
Cruz will be behind Trump today, but ahead of the rest. Most of us aren’t ready to surrender the country to a jackass like Trump just yet. The thing I like about you Trumparinos is your premature gloating. It is going to make his (and your) eventual defeat all the more deliciously satisfying.
You nailed it!!!!

You need lead in your gun to be feared. Cruz shoots blanks. It is not enough to be conservative - you also have to be competent and effective.
I love the premature gloating. It’s going to be fun watching all the Trump trolls eating crow later this summer.
You are a daisy if you do.
