Donald Trump says parts of his immigration proposals are negotiable, but only minor details about his border wall.
In an interview with Fox News Sean Hannity on Monday night, Trump responded to a question about a recent claim, first introduced by BuzzFeed earlier in the day, that he told The New York Times editorial board in an off-the-record tape-recorded meeting that he may not follow through with his proposed immigration measures if he is elected president.
The New York Times is claiming today that they had an off-the-record conversation with you in January, Hannity started.
We had a board meeting, it was off-the-record, suddenly they leak it, its all over the place, Trump said.
They said its negotiable on the wall, Hannity said in reference to Trumps stance on Mexican immigration and his oft-stated promise to build a border wall.
By the way it is negotiable. Things are negotiable, Trump said. Ill make the wall 2 feet shorter or something.
Trump was quick to add that the negotiation does not include nixing the idea altogether.
Building it? Not negotiable.
Would it be negotiable about the 11 million? Hannity pressed. Maybe let some people stay if they register in a period of time?
I would say this, Trump answered. We will work out some system thats fair, but we either have a country or we dont. We need a border. We need a wall.

So what are you people bitching about then?
What's the law on "touchback amnesty"?
Yes. His supporters are being had. I knew this long ago. The list is so long of his contradictions since his campaign started. He only trashes the right and is nice to the left. Never mind his history.
TRUMP (PRAISE HIM) IS SLIP-SLIDIN’ AWAY AND HIS PROMISES AND “PLATFORM” ARE EVAPORATING.
"It's gonna be YUUUUUGE."
By the way it is negotiable. Things are negotiable, Trump said.
I was afraid something like this would come out. Perhaps references to the wall are allegorical.
Trump may be dead serious about building a big, huge wall - but in an allegorical sense.
lol....yup.
“The media would be doing this to Cruz if he was in the lead today.
The media needs to be destroyed. Job One.”
The media isn’t going anywhere. And I could care less about that.
You forgot Great/Amazing/Fantastic :)
2008 - “I’m going to close Gitmo.”
2016 - “I’m going to build a wall.”
Both promises that excite each man’s supporters and are used as a rally cry. Will those who support Trump on this promise alone sour on him if there is no wall by the end of his Presidency?
Oh how they were soooooooo wrong then too.
Im fine with Trump making deals with those dolts. Theyll be left with nothing, and wondering what just happened.
I wonder which part he will consider negotiable, the one where he said he would deport them all. After all, if he said he would deport then bring back the good ones and expedite the process for them, then why even bother going thru the hassle, expense, time, etc., of deporting the good ones.
I used to think there was a very stark difference in our side and the Left. I thought the Right stood for principles, a clear understanding of right and wrong. Now I see even half of our side is lost.
We care, but we usually read past inflammatory headlines as well.

that’s close, but I think it’s even worse than that. the parallels are “I’m going to fix the ocean”, and “I’m going to build a wall”.
there’s no real difference between those two statements.
You took everything I stated out of context.
If you’re going to engage in a meaningful dialogue, it helps to refrain from twisting words and putting words in people’s mouths.
You lose credibility REAL fast...
Ya know, after reading this article I’ve decided to vote for Hillary. /s
Every President except OFail has to deal with Congress. Of course things are negotiable.
It follows what he put in 'Crippled America'. He said you have to be able give a little but NEVER compromise on your core principles/values.
