Because unlike what you are portraying the revolution was not as radical as you think. Up until April 19th and in some instances later, our founders viewed themselves as ENGLISH SUBJECTS, with ENGLISH RIGHTS, subject to the ENGLISH KING. The olive branch petition makes that very clear. They started out and continued on fighting for thier ENGLISH RIGHTS as ENGLISHMMEN. Trumps mother while true being a naturalized citizen, was born a forign citizen like Ted’s father. Ted’s father was legally here, and married to Ted’s mother making him elligable to gain citizenship. The place of birth has no bearing, because if you take the NBC clause word by word, and decide it by the definition, both Cruz and Trump are NB. May I then mention, that if American common law, is not based entirely on English common law, then why pray tell did the first law school in America use William Blackstones commentaries on law. The basis of English common law

You still can’t see the difference in a CITIZEN which Trumps mother was AT THE TIME OF HIS BIRTH and the NON CITIZEN FATHER OF CRUZ AT THE TIME OF HIS BIRTH. i deal with Facts. You deal with your fantasy! The information is out there. Actually, our BILL of RIGHTS was modeled on the FRENCH Droits des citoyens which was written by Lafayette with the help of his friend, Thomas Jefferson. It was signed by Louis XVI. It predates our Bill of Rights and is acknowledged world wide. There were other contributing thoughts, some English, some Native American, but Vattel was the primary source according to the writings of the Framers themselves.
