Death of a salesman: If Trump becomes Prez, his supporters will soon experience epic disillusionment
The New York Daily News ^ | February 27, 2016 | Josh Greenman

Remember when Barack Obama promised the world in 2008, only to leave some enthusiasts bereft after he failed to close Guantanamo, much less slow the rise of the oceans?

If we elect a President Donald Trump, you ain't seen nothing yet when it comes to disillusionment.

Imagine the fury among his supporters when their outsized hero is exposed as a huckster who cashes the check as soon as the car is off the lot.

The brash billionaire has sold I-can-fix-it-just-you-watch pledges to millions of voters enraged about a steady stream of hollow political promises. To them, Trump towers as the man who means what he says and who will finally, after a long line of empty suits, deliver.

Fully 43% of Republican voters see him as the candidate most likely to get things done in Washington -- more than double the number who have confidence in his next closest rival.....

Yeah, all of the vets I know are staunch Trump advocates. They see all the rest as pussies.

Unfortunately these guys will stick with him no matter how bad he is. Most of his supporters are recently converted Democrats so that’s not surprising.

Well I just mailed the Trump campaign a song to see if it would be interested.

Rednecks Built America

Call me crazy, but I think it could have possibilities. And if Donald likes it, it might actually help improve the tone of his campaign. I think he's showing his WWE redneck self right now (he literally participated in that for years out of personal interest) whereas this is a constructive redneck theme.

For those so inclined, please pray that it might do some good?

Couldn’t be any more epic disallusionment than giving the GOP a majority in the House — they keep squandering, AND a majority in the Senate — they, too, keep squandering.

That's because the real power in this nation is the power to misinform the voters, meaning mass media.

New York Media is the main center of US Power, with Los Angeles giving an "entertainment media" assist for Liberal ideas.

You cannot impeach anyone over failure to deliver. The POTUS, except for Obama, of course, has to work within the framework of the Constitution.

Not one single person running will be able to get everything they want in the way they intended.

Willy Loman in Death of a Salesman was a sad sack.

Trump in Make America Great Again is a happy warrior.

LOL. This is the last attempt at settling things within the process, bub.

If you have to ask what comes next if Trump fails to work out you just don't realize how much nitro sweat there is on the dynamite the politicians are playing with.

Things are in a far more fragile state than you realize.

Yes, these news articles are pissing in the wind because none of Trump's supporters really understand what Trump believes in or hearing him when he spouts liberal crap. They just think he is on their side but are not really listening to him.

This is the most bizarre election cycle I have ever seen. This is a cult of personality election of the worst sort. I never understood how the leaders of the 1940's got away with what they did but now I do and I pray to God I am wrong and Trump is not the massive rope-a-dope I think he is but Reagan in disguise but I was raised on logic not fairy tales.....not holding my breath.

I’ll be happy if he gets the wall built, kicks out the illegals, strengthens our military and kills PC. It’s all good. None of us are ever going to be completely satisfied with everything a president does, and Cruz and Rubio are no exception. People are so gullible to believe crap like this, and even post it.

Don’t worry about that. If Trump is the nominee, he will beat Hillary in a blow-out. It will possibly be the most lopsided election in US History.

One good thing about Trump being a white male: he will be eligible for impeachment if he becomes president.

The problem for conservatives is that once a president Trump begins cutting sweet deals with liberals and moderates, there will be few votes for impeachment for simple high crimes and misdemeanors.

And, as president, Trump will have the federal treasury to buy or rent more than enough corrupt votes in Congress to stay in power. I mean if Trump wanted to stay in power.

Amen! Better than the disillusionment I have had after three decades of voting for GOP hacks.

Maybe Trump won’t win.

Cruz definitely won’t win. He’s an awful candidate, I would note.

Trump would win in a knockout. Cruz would win too, but not as decisively.

Here’s where it will be important for Trump’s parade to keep Trump in line.

This is a rare populist movement. We keep looking at it as if it adhered to the traditional political model. There’s no reason it has to.

I certainly hope not, because the state I imagine them being in is pretty horrifying.

Got news for you. The Obama voters still love Obama, even though he's done absolutely nothing beneficial since getting in - except maybe improving his golf handicap. If he was eligible for a third term, he'd be the presumptive nominee and any GOPe Republican would have a hard time beating him.

Likewise, the Trump supporters are going to stick with Trump thick or thin. Only difference is, I see Trump actually accomplishing some good things, because unlike Obama, who didn't even run an ice cream stand, Trump actually achieved some things in life.

I don’t know.

I used to think Cruz was a good guy, but I don’t think that anymore.

As far as Trump goes, I hope he crushes Hillary. I really do. I’m not sure I stay here if she gets elected. That seems like a waking nightmare to me.

I don’t think he is indestructible though. He can be destroyed, and he can destroy himself, or both.

But he is the best candidate America has in this election, and I support him.
