Trump Senior Policy Adviser Stephen Miller: The Moment Ted Cruz Threw in with the Globalists

Trump senior policy adviser Stephen Miller, late of Sen. Jeff Sessions' staff, went on with Breitbart News Saturday Stephen K. Bannon, as reported here (including audio).

Breitbart emphasized Miller's "epic" case against Marco Rubio, but Miller's opening remarks about Ted Cruz were to me more illuminating, especially in the context of the "post-constitutional" election series I've been writing.

In the course of this series, I've examined Ted Cruz's branding as the "consistent conservative," also the constitutional conservative, and found it wanting on several levels. For one thing, Cruz has flip-flopped in the space of the primary cycle on vital immigration and trade issues.

For example:

Cruz has moved from the globalist position to the nationalist position on Syrian refugess (for to against), Obamatrade (for to against), H1B visas (from calling for expansion to calling for a moratorium), birthright citizenship (from waste of conservative time to must end it). Now he even calls for a "wall that works." In this way, Cruz has moved to occupy brand new political terrain that Donald Trump by himself opened up (which is why Trump has my vote).

Dear Ms. West,
There was once a time when conservatives believed in the free market, instead of clamoring for our government to make it "fair."

TPP means the end of the USA period . Trump is the only one who is against TPP and will stop it . Cruz is for TPP and the article that is the subject here proves it

TPP allows them to flood the USA with 100’s of millions of foreign worker immigrants. How do you cruz supporters propose stopping TPP without Trump? Sarah Palin is the only other one I trust would stop it but she’s not running. Cruz already gave up the Senate power to Obama and TPA and TPP passed.

Cruz is for TPP and TPA:TPP means the total destruction of the USA

Trump has always been against TPP , NAFTA etc. Only Trump
p can save America and us from this TPP evil.

“Could this preview Session’s endorsement?”

I think after Super Tuesday, Cruz is going to be out of the race, Rubio and Kasich will be polling behind Trump in their home states, and you are going to see a cascade of endorsements for Trump.

I’ve been wondering the same thing, since first hearing this excellent radio interview, with Bannon (Breitbart) and Stephen Miller.

“There was once a time when conservatives believed in the free market”

Then why are those trade agreements relatively new?

Reagan was a protectionist. That was how he brought back the economy. He did not bring back the economy, and jobs, by moving jobs outside the country.

Why don’t you put you money where your mouth is, move to Mexico, and work for $3 an hour. Then you will have more credibility.

Trump is a visionary, as Reagan was. Sometimes even now, the old lead the young, see reality for what it is, see what the future can be if changed, and what it will be if the status quo remains.

Ted is a stealth candidate for Washington/Global Political Class/No Borders/Open Immigration/so-called "free" trade (which is the opposite of "free" just as Cruz has tried to change the meaning of "conservative" to include supporting a million H1B visas, opening all US jobs to immigrants via TPP and the trade agreements that follow it, allowing the President through TPA to be the ONLY person required to approve a trade deal, etc.)

Anyone who doesn't understand that has done zero reading---and there's TONS of reading if a lazy person will just take the time to google. Otherwise, they are lo-info or no-info people.

PS---the works of Adam Smith, Von Hayek, Friedman, etc., will inform you about "free" trade. The works of the World Trade Organization, the US Chamber of Commerce, the CFR, the US Department of Commerce, The World Bank, NAFTA and TPP, the writings of Robert Pastor and Robert Zoellick will inform you on what has co-opted the very words "free trade" now.

Nope. Cruz is not a globalist. Some of the mud is sticking because it’s repeated so much, but it’s still not true.

I’m hoping Cruz will stay in to the end for two reasons. First, he’d be the best president of the remaining republicans, if Trump self-destructs. Second, his presence splits the anti-Trump vote, making it easier for the strongest candidate (Trump) to win the nomination. I’m okay with either outcome.
