Ted Cruz: 'Republican donors actively despise our base'

Sen. Ted Cruz drew a stark contrast between Democratic donors and Republican donors during a floor speech late Monday.
Democratic donors, Cruz said, don't hate the liberal base, but Republican donors "actively despise" conservatives.
"On the Democratic side, the major donors that fund the Democratic Party, they don't despise their base. The billionaires who write the giant checks that fund President Obama and Hillary Clinton and the Democrats on that side of the aisle, they don't despise the radical gay rights movement or the radical environmentalist movement or all of the people that knock on doors and get Democrats elected," Cruz said.
By contrast, the 2016 Republican presidential candidate continued, "Republican donors actively despise our base, actively despise the men and women who showed up and voted you and me into office."
"I can tell you when you sit down and talk with a New York billionaire Republican donor and I have talked with quite a few New York billionaire Republican donors, California Republican donors, their questions start out as follows," Cruz said. "First of all, you've got to come out for gay marriage, you need to be pro-choice, and you need to support amnesty. That's where the Republican donors are. You wonder why Republicans won't fight on any of these issues? Because the people writing the checks agree with the Democrats."'
Those donors, Cruz added, also view the people who elected the Republican majorities in Congress "as a bunch of ignorant hicks and rubes."

That's where Cruz and Trump agree. The donors may hate the base, but they think the base doesn't hate them. The base hats them with a fury that grows each time they try to buy a candidate the nomination for POTUS. These king makers and their consultants like Karl Rove are seeing their gravy trains about to come off the rails.

Oh, Cruz delivers alright.
He delivered every single thing I despise to pen and paper in signature and amendments .
Quadrupling the HB1 foreign worker visas went to pen and paper by Ted’s hand, “pathways to legalization” went to pen and paper by Ted’s hand, the TPA vote was a legendary disaster, and Ted’s sidled up to McConnell and shut out Jeff Sessions screaming against it.
Never mind his connections to pushing the North American Union, to FUNDAMENTALLY TRANSFORM OUR POPULATION.
Yes, Jo, Cruz is happy to support Rubio at this point, but I look for him to ingratiate himself to TRUMP. Cruz is a climber.

Cruz is endorsing Rubio? Is that a whisper campaign like Carson is leaving the race?

Liberal-tarians don’t believe religious ethics or morals belong in public life along with the atheists of the Left. They both persecute religious people who dare speak or act in the public square whenever possible.
The ones calling themselves “conservatives” these day are libertarians who part with the left when it comes to economic freedom totally unburdened by ethics. These are the GOP donors who hate normal American-American people but want unfettered global capitalism.
To: JediJones
Our ‘donors’ need to back democrats. We can win without them and without their money. Then maybe we can turn the FBI on to the corruption and ‘legal’ bribes that keep Washington as one of the most corrupt cities in the world.
