I would not want to speak for Cruz, especially when you are giving a religious test.
I don’t want to speak for Trump either on religious matters.
Trump has addressed the forgiveness question himself publicly. I understood him to say he has never had to ask for forgiveness from God.

IIRC, Trump said that he found forgiveness in Holy Communion.
Which is pretty theologically and Biblically accurate if you ask me.
As for his faith? Well, I’m not his pastor. I’d love to talk to him about it sometime, though I’m pretty sure it’ll never happen.
