...Cruz doesn't tithe. He and his wife donated less than 1 percent of their income to charity and nothing to churches, including to their own in Houston, according to tax returns from 2006 to 2010, the most recent Cruz has released.
His campaign declined requests from The Associated Press to provide recent tax returns or otherwise demonstrate donations since 2010. Cruz has said he and his wife were more focused on using their seven-figure annual income to build a financial foundation for their family.

One can’t “tithe” 1 percent: it’s 10 percent to be a real “tithe”. It’s also 10 percent of first fruits, meaning gross pay! We can say that we aren’t responsible for big government and pay 10 percent on the net, but that may not be God’s definition. Anything above 10 percent is an “offering”.
You’re wasting your breath. On another thread one of them was actually arguing with me when I said I would vote for Trump. I have stated numerous times I would support who ever the nominee was yet the insults continue. I have no doubt most of them would not do the same.
Though I am still trying to vote for Ted on March 1, I am elated that I did NOT contribute to his campaign.
And you bring up tax reports again when I pointed out that numerous tax lawyers as well as Levin , who is a Cruz supporter, have said that they would never allow their client to release any information of any kind as long as they were under audit...... I think this exposes you.
I agree. I believe I may still very well still vote for Cruz. Honestly, I may not decide until then — Cruz or Trump for me.
I am sure that I do plan to vote against my GOPe congressman.
Agree. And the New Testament didn’t abolish the law as someone else had posted in this thread.
Are you in Pete Sessions’ district? Is there another member with strong intra-party opposition?
Bradley Byrne.
A man named Jeff Judson is opposing Joe Straus in TX House District 121 in San Antonio; Straus is the liberal Republican House Speaker who has blocked conservative bills approved by the state Senate. I would think Straus will be a shoo-in, but I am not in the district.
“my faith is between me and God”
between God and me
“Tithing is an Old Testament Legalism.”
Thank you!
No one slandered Ben except Donald when he lied about his past and whether a knife can be stopped by a belt, that was the liberal trump who lies and keeps on lying.
I admire you for this. I can not one-up you on this matter.
“IIRC, Trump said that he found forgiveness in Holy Communion.”
I was not aware Trump said this.
If Trump said this then his answer to the question should be “yes, all the time” and not “no.”
“Where is your public confession?”
Am I suppose to file it with you?
I didn’t know.
You set the standard, why not follow your own standard?
This is 2016. His taxes for the year 2015 are due to be filed in April. He doesn’t file for what he made this year, 2016, until after he actually works all year and knows how much he made.
You really think Trump is the one running as the pious choice?
Do you have a battlement built around the roof of your house, to keep guests from falling off? It is the law.
Jesus fulfilled the law and I live under His new covenant.
When he told the Pharisees they should pay their tithes, he was speaking to a group of legalistic Jews who were indeed living under "the law"
Jesus Himself lived under the law and He did it to perfection, so we wouldn't have to struggle to do the impossible. His blood paid the price of our freedom and salvation.
I'll add, any preacher who preaches tithing as a New Testament command is being dishonest or is ignorant and I don't know which is worse. Either course is damaging.
Its not a requirement of the Church but of the Bible.....
