My reply to her was that Republicans had far greater turnout than Democrats in South Carolina.
The D vote was split 2 ways. The R vote was split 6 or 7 ways. The Hillary "lead" in votes over the two primaries is not anything to worry about.
South Carolina will be an R state come November, no matter who is at the top of the ticket. I think that will be Trump, but we'll carry SC no matter what.

The bottom line is that Trump is having more of an impact raising turnout than Obama achieved in 2008. Hillary also got fewer votes than Obama 8 years ago when the race was split three ways (with Edwards) on the Dem side.
