Exactly right. They set the narrative and the parameters of the discussion.
It’s what they leave out that is often the most important.

That’s right - and some people figure out that it is pure theater/bread & circuses for the masses, two heads of the same hydra, and never watch any of them again. Friends are surprised that I follow politics but never watch TV coverage (including debates); I’m surprised they watch any of the BS sold to us on TV (the true “opium of the masses”).
