Out of Prison, Living in Luxury (Attys filing Trump U suit)
Sam Diego Reader ^ | May 26, 2010 | Don Bauder

Lerach, who recently emerged from an almost two-year stretch in prison, is greatly responsible for this rigged game. As an attorney who filed hundreds of class-action suits against corporations, he became a bigger fraudster than a lot of the companies he was pursuing. First, he filed many dubious suits, rejoicing when 90 percent of the companies decided to settle for millions of dollars rather than spend the time and money fighting. That stratagem wasn’t illegal, but it was grossly unethical — the classic shakedown. Companies called it getting “Lerached.” Second, Lerach and his firms paid fat kickbacks to shifty characters to become plaintiffs in those lawsuits. That was illegal, landing Lerach in prison..

"No, the article says the law firm of the disbarred attorneys is bringing the suit in California. The firm and attorneys were specialists in this kind of lawsuit. I guess two of them caught."

I must be missing that part. Where is it?

I was talking about this from the other link I posted:

"Making matters worse, Schneiderman chose to devote such valuable taxpayer dollars to looking into Trump University even though there was already a class action lawsuit pending in California brought by the firm of disgraced former lawyers and convicted felons Bill Lerach and Mel Weiss."

Their firm was Milberg, Weiss, Bershad, Hynes & Lerach LLP."

The luxury article was about Lerach and Weiss, who were partners in the firm above, which brought the CA case and which does almost exclusively class action lawsuits.

I honestly didn't mean to be unclear. I was just answering a lot of posts ...

According to the article he’s been disbarred. How can he be suing Trump U.?

It is his firm, Milberg, Weiss, Bershad, Hynes & Lerach LLP, bringing the suit and I don't know that he was disbarred when the suit began or not.

Have a great day, Mr. Dawg!

Go ask Gregg Abbott, who filed fraud charges against Trump U in Texas couple of years ago.

Abbott damn sure not GOPe, but was top notch Attorney General.

When Jesse Jackasson and Al Sharptoon do this extortion it’s okay, because black lives matter, Jesse’s and Al’s that is.

I caught your little spelling tweaks there by the way, cute!

Sounds like shyster lawyer describes Lerach. Seems to me that Trump won’t allow himself to be extorted like the other 90% of companies sued by Lerach. Trump won’t let America be taken to the cleaners either. And taken to the cleaners is exactly what the elite lobbyists and politicians have done.

Few congress critters don’t leave congress as multimillionaires while the average taxpayer lives paycheck to paycheck.

Pardon me, but NY state’s lawsuit is the one on the agenda for this year. Did you miss that one? There are 3 separate law suits going on.

Actually, I didn't. The article I posted was about the California one. It was sort of obvious, at least I thought it was. I had earlier posted one about the NY one, guess you missed that.

Being sued has nothing to do with whether he is clean or not.

Did you not catch to screen name “True Believer”? He or she truly believes, don’t you know, that the Donald is exactly who he says he is (since August of last year or so) and not what the records show him to be. Who you going to believe the Donald or 30-40 years of Trumps public record.

Please don't involve me in your petty lame thinking and don't talk about me negatively when I didn't - nor would I ever - be interested enough in you to respond to anything you write.

got no friends?

Trump has probably been sued hundreds of times.

As has anyone with the type of money Trump has.

They're called nuisance lawsuits for a reason.

I'm not rich and I've had two filed against me. Both failed.

If I were on the jury, I’d want the plaintiffs to pay Trump even more money for not learning their lesson about a fool and his money the first time.

That said, Trump U was sleazy business. There are books in used bookstores for under $5.00 on how to flip houses.

FLASHBACK: )Cruz BFF) Marco Rubio Backed a For-Profit College that Donated to His Campaign
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3402143/posts

“Last summer, Senator Marco Rubio of Florida asked the U.S. Department of Education to “demonstrate leniency” toward Corinthian Colleges by permitting the wealthy for-profit company to continue accessing millions of dollars in federal financial aid while it was cooperating with a federal investigation.

Ten months later, the company shuttered its remaining 28 campuses, instantly displacing some 16,000 students just days after it was fined $30 million by the Department of Education for a scheme involving “confirmed cases of misrepresentation of job placement rates” for as many as 947 students. The decision to close shop came after years of federal and state investigations into the company.”

I was referring to you, and folks like you, so I included you on the address line as a courtesy, no other reason. The other addressee was answering your post.

If you don't want to be referred to in posts then don't post. If you want a "Safe Space" then don't post on FR at all. Seems like tons of you Trumpeters get your feeling hurt pretty easily.

Have a great life

Don’t worry, Milt Romney is on the case for the GOPe.

The man that ran for president for 6 years through two presidential campaigns and still couldn’t close the deal.

The lawsuit was by Lerach? That’s all I need to know that it is a shakedown.
