Tripwire Alert – The RNC, GOPe, Marco Rubio, Chris Christie and Donald Trump…
Conservative Treehouse ^ | 2/26/2016 | Sundance

Today the political landscape just became infinitely more interesting. In order to understand the current landscape, and simultaneously explain what it means, we must weave in and out of history because this tripwire alert needs reference points.

At the most basic of level we must remember candidate Marco Rubio was never supposed to be the GOPe's standard bearer for the professional republican party. It simply was not his role.

A single-term, 44-year-old, freshman senator, with a wife, four kids, no accumulated wealth and no executive experience, does not independently mount a long-shot bid to become the chief executive office holder amid the power-elites who run the highest political offices.

Rubio was/is 'a means' - to an end. Rubio does not represent the end goal, he never did.

Agreed. Christie is likely the next AG. More likely Kasich or Guiliani for VP.

Christie is more liberal than we would like here, but he is still pretty conservative, and I think he would “grow” in the position if he left his left leaning state and had more freedom to be conservative. He has always been solidly pro life. He, like Scott Walker, took on unions and won.

Very insightful stuff.

So, it is 8 contests before a person can be nominated, very interesting indeed. That is going to gag them I guess. Only Trump will probably be able to be nominated, but then will he have the delegates?

This is “Star Wars” kind of deceit and betrayal at work. Hopefully we have a happy ending yet in our future.

Attorney General doesn’t put you in line to be the next President; VP does. Christie sold high.

I just read this. Puts alot of stuff in perspective. Trump knows what they are doing and appears to be staying one step ahead of them. Brokered convention means ALL OUT WAR and the end of the Republican party. I am going independent.

Great article.

If/when Trump becomes President, hope he shines the light on the RNC elites and appoints his own RNC chairman to represent We the People.

We the People are so tired of the liberal media and the newly exposed RNC (Koch brothers)

http://www.vanityfair.com/news/2016/02/koch-brothers-take-on-trump

What form might this attack take? According to The Hill, the Kochs operatives have carefully assessed Trump's vulnerabilities and those of the other candidates and determined that highlighting his track record of bankruptcies and predatory business deals harms his standing with likely voters. (The Democrats deployed a similar strategy, to great effect, against Romney's “vulture capitalism.”)

“As to whether we would mount something like that, everything is on the table, one senior Koch official told me. “But there's no real plan. In all of our meetings we've discussed it.”

One thing that has held the Koch network back so far, in addition to the Trump backers within their ranks, is the concern that taking on Trump would inevitably draw the thin-skinned tycoon's legendary invective, which it almost certainly would. If the Kochs go after Trump, rest assured that he will take every opportunity to highlight how he's being attacked by a cabal of billionaires seeking to control the outcome of the election. And this more or less explains their caution to this point. By taking on Trump, the Kochs risk lending credence to his claims of being an outsider who is battling against a corrupt political system rigged by the elites.

Everything is on the table, says one source.

They do not care about people who vote. The Koch's want what they want, when they want it, and they will buy anything politician they can. They hate Trump and are afraid Trump will expose them which is why they are using Rubio and their other surrogates. They wanted Paul Ryan, they got him. They have the RNC chairman of their choice, Reince Priebus.

The Koch brothers and Mitt Romney are attempting to take down Donald Trump by way of Paul Ryan, Reince Priebus and Jr Senator Rubio. Ted Cruz should not align himself with these people, otherwise, he becomes the bought and paid for establishment.

Hope Trump wins and day one, hope he replaces Reince Preibus with someone who will have the integrity to represent the party against the RNC elites.

"The visibility of the message, along with the specificity of the message itself, is intended to set up the future events; ie the goals the RNC/GOPe are working toward. • A nominee chosen at a convention. • A nominee who might not even be on the stage. • An appointed nominee, because the party cannot accept its destruction at the hands of the actual electoral winner who they decide does not represent the party ideology."................... Why does he think we in the outer party don't grasp that the RNC and the GOP are one=and=the=same? ......... "One way or another, you're coming with me." RoboTrump Robocop photo: robocop robocop.jpg This is a no-win game for the GOP: if they screw with the primary system, they lose; if they don't, they lose.

Next to me ;) this guy always has the most unusual analysis out there.

With Christie, LePage, now news of Gingrich as possible Chief of Staff and Sessions still not endorsing anyone, Trump is building a powerful policy team.

Sneaky, sneaky RNC.

In addition Rule #40 changed in 2014 from previously five needed state wins, to a newer threshold of eight (8):

Officially, it’s Rule 40 in the RNC handbook and it states that any candidate for president “shall demonstrate the support of a majority of the delegates from each of eight (8) or more states” before their name is presented for nomination at the national convention. (article March 2014)

Again, ask yourself who does this benefit? A candidate can win seven states outright, and still not have their name presented for nomination?

These rules were made/affirmed in 2014 – Who or what exactly was the GOP concerned about blocking in 2016 that would necessitate such rules? When combined with other rule changes you can clearly identify a consolidation of power within the RNC apparatus intentionally constructed to stop the candidate of the GRASSROOTS from achieving victory.

Hopefully if Trump wins, he corrects the RNC rule changes which were put in place to protect the establishment choice.

Wow, Trump has really upset their apple cart.

Rush was almost maniacal when I heard him today, clearly angry that Cruz and Rubes hadn’t “taken out “ Trump sooner. He also was at a loss to explain why Cruz is doing so badly.

Jeff Sessions goes from Senator to Commerce Secretary? Man do you live in some sort of warp.

You would be surprised the power of these cabinet positions. I knew a former Commerce Secretary under Reagan. Much more powerful than a senator.

Sessions goes to State or he stays in the Senate; but I really believe he has too much integrity to let Trump buy him for a pre-convention endorsement.

Sessions will b 70 years old before Inauguration Day. Dick Cheney was 60, Joe Biden was 66 , both were supposed to be the “wise old heads” to guide their much younger running mates through he wilds of D.C. Sessions makes no sense in that role as Trump is virtually the same age. Admit the obvious, Trump wants to knock Cruz out in Texas so badly next Tuesday, he lined up a RINO as heir apparent. There’s going to be a lot of this. “I’m a conservative BUT you have to be smart.”

Didn’t anyone click on the “example here” link a few paragraphs down from Rubio’s photo?

That takes you to another site where Rubio’s financial dealings and past associations are discussed.

Rubio is one bad guy.

It i long, but worth reading because it exposes him as more dishonest than the Clintons.
