The only way this is going to happen is for their supporters to shout this at them, starting here on FR and reverberating to other places.
I agree about the ‘substance’.
I have heard substance from Cruz, some from Rubio, Carson, Fiorina, even Christie and Bush. I disagree with some of those specifics one candidate or another has offered, but at least they offered it.
I have heard absolutely NO substance from Trump except his ability to identify the problem, general action steps without specifics while giving sweeping nebulous statements reiterating the identity of the problem when pressed for specifics.
I do not think that is entirely his fault.
The media-run kingmakers that handled all these stupid cage-match debates designed to hurt anyone opposed to Hillary did not provide a platform for any of them to actually discuss substance beyond the narratives of the Leftist Establishment.
Sadly Trump and Rubio refused to attend the Conservative Convention where they could have had that opportunity to speak, and present some substance without the media filter.
I am resigned to the belief that this people by and large are not interested in substance, but smooth and easy generalities that identify blame for the woes they are feeling and the fears they have.
Wish I didn't have to run I'd like to join in.
