Why Donald Trump Can’t Lose

Trump has comfortable leads in the polls heading toward Super Tuesday, just five days away, and his campaign so far has weathered all kinds of bad news. After months of leading the pack, Trump seems immune to those who would challenge him on positions and statements that, for anyone else, should have proved disqualifying.
That didn't stop Florida Sen. Marco Rubio from using the last debate before voters cast ballots on Tuesday in 12 states to directly challenge the billionaire. Rival Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, too, came for Trump, but from the right. It was clear that Rubio was pitching a message that would help him survive a fight in his home state of Florida and perhaps battle toward a muddled nominating convention, while Cruz was looking at March 1 contests, including at home in Texas.
It made for a remarkable night of television, but might once again prove that the typical rules of politics do no matter in a year when a former reality TV host who promises mass deportations emerge a favorite among Christian conservatives in South Carolina and among Hispanics in Nevada.

Oh, Trump can most certainly lose, either in the primaries or in the general.
This is why he must never let up with his message. But I think he knows that.

I don’t understand how people Question Trumps record. He has no record. He was a wheeling dealing and successful big ticket real estate tycoon.
He took loans? Oh my gosh!
He hired visa workers? Oh my gosh!
He contributed to both sides of the aisle? Oh my gosh!

Trump’s record has been public for decades. Successful real estate tycoon—clearly, he understands economics, he knows how to negotiate, he knows how to manage people, he probably has a whole host of skills that I can’t even list.
For one, I’m looking forward to the incessant mocking of his, ahem, magnificent comb-over. That will certainly be a lot better atmosphere for the country than the constant celebration of sexually-related mental illness that we have had with Obama.

That’s nice. However, is anyone watching the congressional races? I checked out Dem Underwear and saw we could lose 4 senate seats. Not that DT would have any problems making deals with the devils in DC or writing those all powerful executive orders we have come to hate or EVER think about doing anything unconstitutional. bwahahahaha.

That’s another reason we need someone who can actually WIN the Presdency. We are vulnerable in the Senate, with a lot more of our seats up than theirs. That has enormous implications, not the least of which is Supreme Court nominee approvals.

I donât understand how people Question Trumps record. He has no record. Exactly. Why are we planning to let someone with no record run the executive branch? Based on his promises that his conversion to conservative ideas last year is genuine.
To: exDemMom
I believe the rule is that he has to win 8 outright majorities in the primaries. If none do then it is a so called open convention and no votes are bound and are all up for sale. to be considered at the convention.

He does not necessarily understand Economics. He is very good with Finance, not the same thing. His advocacy of tariffs and trade war say he does not understand Economics. The indicated Trump approach harks back to the Smoot Hawley Act of 1930 which was the trigger and partial cause of the great Depression. It severely curtailed world trade and its effect was, not to increase American production , but raise the costs of everything while driving imports out of the market. Industries that could no longer sell abroad because of the high retaliatory tariffs went under. Raising the costs of production never helps consumers, is always harmful. In 1930 the tariff war was begun before there was depression and major depression followed and was not completely undone until the tax and regulatory reforms of the Eisenhower years. Here we are 8 years into a great depression(and yes we have bread lines every bit as much as were in the 30s-think EBT) and we are going to pull that trigger again. It will not end well. A country with a small government that did not interfere in peoples lives much at all then got a dictator who did not have much scope for his talents because the government was as small as it was. FDR increased the scope and size of that government tremendously and getting a real dictator now will be much more dramatic than it was in the 30s.
I supported Trump pretty enthusiastically because I believed and still believe that he is the only one of them who has the character and determination to do what must be done to restore the Republic. I am much less enthusiastic as he has indicated more and more the directions he means to take. He is still the only one who CAN. It looks more and more likely that he will NOT. We need a man with the abilities and drive of Napoleon now but when such a man comes he is apt to turn out to BE Napoleon.

I believe that rule can be changed at the beginning of the convention. If Trump has a majority of the delegates coming in, he can change it

ExDemMom,
The theory Smoot-Hawley caused the Great Depression was made up in the 1950's as a precursor to the beginning of gloBULLization. It is a lie, pure and simple.
The Smoot-Hawley myth is not hard to debunk just look at the actually data from the 1930's and draw your own logical conclusions from that data. Trade, both import and export, was a tiny part of the overall economy during the depressed 30's. Smoot-Hawley's impact after subtracting trade's $3Billion from the entire GDP($50Billion) economy could not have worsened the economy much at all. Due to it's small overall portion of GDP, trade restrictions could NOT have the "devastating" effect the "learned" economics that IMO have an agenda profess. Ask yourself this, if your paycheck were cut by 4% would that cause you to go broke and loose everything? Would it cause you and your family a personal devastating Great Depression lasting a decade? I think not. But back to the data. Look at the chart below. Notice that net trade hardly changed after Smoot-Hawley passage. We've been sold a bill of goods.
