Definitely serious. They need the hands- on aspect to learn good safety principles and operating skills - although book- learning helps and should be part of it, yes. Think about it anyway, please. (Now, millions of them have firearms - they’re almost ubiquitous in many cities — but many owners have never had a good training class for them. This is like drivers training classes which include behind the wheel safety lessons as well as book learning . I realize the cars are involved in far more accidents but the same idea could, IMHO, extend to pistols and rifles too. )l

Ok...training and hands on experience is good in a classroom teaching situation...

But you said issuing a weapon to every freshman student in any major US urban or suburban city is a good idea...!

I’m sure the gun grabbers would love that idea...

plays right into their hands we are gun nuts...
