It was hard not to feel schadenfreude when Bush went down. After having had Bush the elder, Dole, McCain, and Romney crammed down my throat by the donor class back when barrages of TV ads really could destroy insurgent candidates, it was really sweet to see the establishment crushed for once.

Rubio is also a bought and paid for tool of that wing of the party that has run things for too long, and he needs to go. (I also don’t want us to be at war in 6 spots on the globe simultaneously, which is where the extreme neocons he has chosen to get into bed with would lead us).

I don’t care for Cruz, but I am not engaging in schadenfreude over his imminent demise. He doesn’t deserve to be grouped with them.

I am hoping for a Trump/Kasich ticket. Trump will need someone who knows his way around Washington, which Kasich does from his long time in the House, and Kasich also understands how states work, and how important it is to let the Constitution do its thing, leaving states to decide how to run their own affairs.

Kasich is pro-amnesty. He also expanded Medicaid as part of Obamacare. He is firmly part of the GOPe. His only real plus is being governor of Ohio, which the Reps cannot lose if they want to take the WH.
