Philip Hammond: Kurdish-Russian Cooperation Against Al Qaeda 'Disturbing' {UK FM]
Russia Insider ^ | Marko Marjanović

Philip Hammond must be in the running for the stupid award and taking it very seriously indeed. Literally everything that comes out of his mouth has us stunned at how could anyone be as ignorant, petulant and ill-informed. His latest:

"What we have seen over the last weeks is very disturbing evidence of coordination between Syrian Kurdish forces, the Syrian regime and the Russian air force which are making us distinctly uneasy about the Kurds' role in all of this."

Oh really? What evidence would that be? The fact that Russians have been acting as the Kurds' air force, which is something neither has made the slightest attempt to hide?. Why should they when fighting Al Nusra and Ahrar ash-Sham, both of which are Al Qaeda, and their cronies has been a point of pride for them?

Ah, but in London's demented imagination Syria is home to 70,000 "moderate rebels". I guess that is the reason why Syria's rebel-held areas are absolutely teeming with western reporters doing feature stories on the plucky liberal democrat fighters. Except wait. There aren't any. Because they know full well that if they ever showed up there they would end up in the trunk of a car en route to a torture dungeon of the Bin Laden-loving liberals.

Russia will make a stand for Syria. It’s a good gamble. Turkey cloaked by NATO. NATO reluctant to commit. Wimpish President ... it all smells like ignore and back down.

The Russians are giving the Kurds the help Obama denied them. Good for the Russians.

I think it was Trump who advocated for letting Russia take the lead in Syria. Looks like a good idea so far.

It was working well, until we yielded to the Turks and brokered a ceasefire with Russia.

Having said that, it is pretty dumb comment from Hammond - whoever he is.
