Thanks to the trade agreements, the American garment industry was destroyed year ago. If I ever get the urge to buy a garment made in the United States, I have to get on the internet and do research.

All that the big box stores carry are items made outside the United States. Check the labels.

Can’t face the question, huh?

Yes, many of Donald Trump branded items are still made in China, among other places. It’s not like he went shopping for a new suit and that’s all he could find in his size. He contracted to have them made there, and proudly had his name placed just above the “Made in China” label.

So, what do you think of the thousands of American textile workers who have lost their jobs because people like Trump don’t fight to keep things here, but follow the cheap labor market to China?

So Trump is also supposed to build the factory that makes his ties and compete with china that pays their workers 50 cents an hour?

Yes! You're starting to get it.This is what Trump is telling other business owners they must do.

And if they don't, Trump is going to make the people, you and me, pay higher taxes to the government. Trump calls it a "tariff " which is a fancy way to avoid saying "tax".

These gloBULList Free Traitor™ jackasses have destroyed Americas national security and middle class and they have had their way unfettered by either political party for over 30 years. Now one guy comes along that might, maybe, potentially upset their Free Trade apple cart and they throw tantrums. They are fascistic in their thinking and really need to sit down and have a real heart to heart with themselves and ask what it means to be an American patriot.

Tariffs are another word for "using the government to take money away from one group of Americans and give it to another group of Americans".

Raise the prices of foreign goods 30% and watch the price of American goods go up 28%.

I would blame the Unions

No, it's the American consumer, who wants to pay less.

Just convince Americans that they need to go back to 1950, when it cost a day's pay to buy a shirt or a month's pay to buy a TV set, and you'll have solved the problem of job exportation.

Of course, we could impose tariffs and just make people pay those prices, without having to go through the effort of convincing them.

Raise the prices of foreign goods 30% and watch the price of American goods go up 28%.

This is disingenuous. First of all only prices of IMPORTED goods might increase. Secondly domestic competition will male prices go lower. That is the point.

I would blame the Unions who, through strikes and protests, have caused he American workforce to be uncompetitive.

Companies shifted a lot of production overseas to avoid the mafia-controled Unions - the brownshirts of the Democrat party.

Not according to trump.

What is the excuse for making his products overseas?
