Donald Trump: Ted Cruz 'Is Like a Little Baby'
CNN/Gant Daily ^ | 1 hour ago | staff

Posted on 02/23/2016 2:40:15 PM PST by drewh

Donald Trump on Tuesday called his GOP presidential rival Ted Cruz “a baby” as he dug in on his attacks against the Texas senator, one day after calling Cruz “sick.”

“I’ve met much tougher people than Ted Cruz. He is like a baby compared to some of the people I have to deal with. He is like a little baby: soft, weak, little baby by comparison,” Trump said at a campaign rally in Sparks, Nevada, after slamming Cruz yet again as “the single biggest liar I have ever dealt with.”

Trump later added, “I’d like to really win in Texas. Wouldn’t that be great? I love Texas. I love Texas. And I think now that (Cruz) has exposed himself as a nasty person who lies a lot, I think he’s going to go way, way down in Texas. So I think we have a shot in Texas.”

A message left with the Cruz campaign seeking comment was not immediately returned.

Trump has leveled an unrelenting barrage of personal attacks against Cruz, calling him everything from “unstable” to a “basket case” and accusing him of lying while also touting the Bible.

The attacks come as Cruz and his allies have laid into Trump’s stances on a number of issues important to conservatives, from Trump’s use of eminent domain laws for personal gain to the New York billionaire’s past support of abortion rights and additional gun control measures.

Trump has since changed his positions on abortion and gun rights.

And while Cruz’s ads use Trump’s own words against him, Trump has accused him of playing dirty.

The latest attack is reminiscent of Trump’s line of attack against former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, whom Trump branded as “low energy” over months of campaigning.

But with Bush now out of the race, Trump is looking for space to fill in his stump speech, which previously included multiple references to Bush’s “weak” nature — an effective foil for Trump’s brashness on the campaign trail.

He hinted at a potential target on Tuesday when he said “Marco Rubio is a nice young man.”

“He hasn’t hit me. No, no, no, he has not hit me. When he hits me, ugh, is he going to be hit. Actually, I can’t wait,” Trump said. “I hope he does (get nasty) because it’s more fun.”

Cruz is a Sadducee,

.. that’s idiotic... sTrumpet is the propagandist. There is no reason to question his faith and I’m probably in the Word more regularly than you. Let’s jettison a Constitutional Conservative for a Progressive Dem that says anything, any time and you lap it up.... unFREEPin believable.

So much ammo for future “I told you so” moments, while the Republic circles the drain...

What is it about GOD that you do not fully understand.

All that you spoke of is covered with "Forgive us our Sins (debts) as we forgive those that sin against us (or debtors).....

That encompasses all that you want to know. It is true HE knows all our sins, we sin by commission and omission, and true we may not catch them all, but with the prayer that Jesus taught us and the "Forgive us our sins" part covers all we need to say.

Otherwise Jesus would have had to expounded into that series of things you want to know, you know how long that would have to be? Jesus was the first to use KISS (keep it simple).

Pray you catch on. That prayer is powerful yet simple, and if you say it slowly and meditate on every word you will be able to comprehend it fully. Maybe because is seems so simple, makes it harder to understand.

Most people say it quickly by memory yet do not take time to fully see what it says.

Try it slowly. "Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name....(see that is Praise)now go on a figure out the rest.

Because people really don’t like Cruz. It’s a problem he’s had all of his life. He just rubs people the wrong way. He was never going to win because he can’t draw in moderates and Reagan Democrats.

>>but with the prayer that Jesus taught us and the “Forgive us our sins” part covers all we need to say.

You understand what I’m saying a lot better than HLPHAT. The people that are making a big deal about Trump’s answer to the “ do you ask” question fail to understand what you just said.

Jesus said, “pray like this” and not “say this prayer”. You can ask for forgiveness if it makes you feel better, or you can let God’s grace do its work.

Of course, the Lords Prayer is a bad choice if you read the whole sentence: forgive our sins AS we forgive others. God is perfect in his ability to forgive sin. Are you as perfect at forgiving? I know I’m not! When I say the Lords Prayer, I think “forgive our sins much better than I forgive others.” I do this because I trust God’s grace a lot more than I trust my ability to catalogue my sins and to ask for forgiveness for them.

So when a guy like HLPHAT who has serious anger issues is lecturing about Trump’s answer to a flippant question, I see a guy who worries about a splinter and ignore the log. He, like many Churchians, ignores the “as I forgive others” part.

I cannot ask the Lord for forgiveness as in the Lords prayer, unless I have known HIM first. Knowing HIM requires of us to ask for HIS forgiveness of our sins and repent of our old ways and accept HIM as our Lord and Savior who died on the cross for he redemption of our sins, buried, & rose again. HE LIVES.

When I do or say something wrong to another person, even if I did not mean it to hurt, but it did. I am required to ask them to forgive me. Or else I can't be forgiven by the Lord. Even if that person will not forgive me, I have done what I needed to do to repair my own soul. If that person holds a grudge it is between him and GOD, I'm out of it. (think of Ted Cruz in this one, he asked Carson 3 times, Cruz asked 3 times and yet Carson still holds that grudge), not a wise thing to do.

Commission: doing something on purpose.

Ommission: not knowing what a sin would look like.

How many times are we required to forgive someone? Matt: 18:21 says 70 x 7. Yes, that many for our Lord has forgiven us much more.

Wish Ben Carson would learn that one and shut up.

Regarding Trump: The problem most and I have with his comments is Trump does not think he has done anything wrong, not knowing that we are all born SINNERS and to be redeemed is to accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, there is no other path. To do that we (I) have to ask for HIS forgiveness, repent and be born again into the BODY OF CHRIST. Forgiven but still a sinner as there is only one PERFECT man and HE has risen.

Trump has put himself above GOD, will not acknowledge he is a sinner nor need repentance, that is the problem for us.

Now he can go on about his merry way and do as he pleases, but GOD will ask him one day for an account. Trump cannot then say, "but I did good works", "don't you know who I am, I am RICH", you have to let me in. God is no respecter of persons.

The "Lords Prayer" actually is the only prayer that is needed, it encompasses everything, a prayer GOD wrote HIMSELF for us to use. We are to pray continuously and be mindful always of our sins. Most cognitive people will know when they have done others wrong, it is at that moment of hurt one needs to ask for forgiveness, or as soon as possible when one learns what they did wrong.

How can one be forgiven without asking for forgiveness? For what do you ask then. Repent, accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and HE then will forgive you and forgive each and every time we ask, every minute, every day 24/7/365 HE don't sleep, HE's up all night .. It's just HIS way.

I don't know HLPHAT, nor what he/they have said, so I can't comment on that. May have to go back in the thread and see for myself.

Plus, he will forgive each and every time we fail to ask. Because he chose us and he doesn’t make mistakes.

I’m not having church. But a lot of people can’t separate church from Christ. They should be inseparable, but church has decided to go its own way as a franchise of what they consider to be Christ, Inc.

I agree with you on that. There are still a lot of good Christians left, even in those churches. A lot of babes in Christ who don't know a lot of what scriptures teaches, but hopefully they will in time, at any rate if they profess Christ as their Savior, I'll leave the rest to HIM.

The televangelists? I did have a problem with them at one time and was very judgmental, but it dawned on me that if only ONE person was saved by what they are doing, it is all worth it, so I just pass them on by and let the Lord handle as HE wishes..

NO, HE certainly does not make mistakes that’s for sure and “HIS perfect will”, will be done......there is great comfort in knowing and remembering that as we see the mess the world is in now.

Cheers.

I’ve been through that stage where I thought they were OK as long as they brought one soul to Christ. Televangelists, liberal churches, even pseudo-Christians like Mormons all fit in that category.

But, now that I know better how God works, I know that these people are false teachers. They teach that God relies on us to “make a decision” before he can act. Many of them take “faith without works is dead” to an extreme to claim that those who do not “do” enough weren’t saved in the first place.

They are so busy trying to make sure that you feel guilty for not being a good enough Christian (because of your actions, lack of gifts, lack of giving, or failure to “do”) that they teach that God is weak and needy, like a teenager waiting by the phone for a call from someone that said they’d call.

So, any teaching that creates conditions that you must fulfill to be saved (or stay saved, or be elevated to “higher level” of salvation) is false and if it seems to have brought one person to Christ, remember that it is God who called them. If it hadn’t been the televangelist, it would have been someone else who brought them out into the open.

(As a disclaimer, I was brought to Christ by Mormon missionaries standing on my porch. I did not ever attend their church, but I did become a Methodist, where I matured quite a bit but not fully in my faith. When I realized the false teachings in the UMC, I became Reformed and a Presbyterian. But, when those Mormons knocked on the door, I saw who they were and a voice inside me said, “Answer the door.” That voice brought me to Christ.)

not I... I doubt he will be President but it won’t be because of me. If he is the same as Hillary and Bernie, what difference does it make.

This election is not about conservative purity, it is about taking our country back...from the likes of the socialist Hillary or the communist Sanders. If you think Trump is like them...you are not living in reality.

I still stand by what I feel, that if just one is saved (and that is determined by GOD himself), by a Televangilist that is a good thing and I will let GOD deal with whatever is wrong. That person will grow because the seed has been planted.

We are saved by GRACE, through Faith and not of our works lest we should boast of ourselves. Now after we are saved by the Grace of GOD, we will want to do works, charities, caregiving, marriages, children. We serve/work for GOD in our daily lives, with every one we meet and in every job we hold.

I once told a boss at the P.O., "I don't work for you", he was stunned for a second. Then I added "I work for GOD, you just give me the paycheck"....still stunned. I told him, when I work on a job, I never want make my Lord ashamed of me".

My dad taught me, if you work for man for 50cent an hour, give him a $1.00 worth....and that is what I have always done, so I don't have to be ashamed, nor do I steal time.

Those are just samples of working for the Lord. It gets really easy to think like that and look for all opportunities. But once I do a good deed, do it in secret, let no one know, or else I will loose my reward from the Lord.

Well, this about covers things I think. I'm off for some errands now. Nice talking with you.

So what is he going to replace it with? Ability to purchase across state lines is a good start, but then he is going to make sure that no one is “dying in the streets” - which is shorthand for a government paid system. Do we have a problem with people dying in streets from a lack of government paid healthcare?

And what is Trump telling people that will make their lives better? he has no plans really. he don’t go into depth on anything. He just makes Grand pledges like building a wall and making mexico pay for it. Trump has only been conservative for like 15 minutes compared to Cruz. Cruz has been fighting for the cause while Trump was giving money to democrats. And now so many people here are in the tank for a madman. I don’t understand it. Trump is nothing, a zero in political terms. Talk about a empty suit. He is a freakin blank slate ready to be whatever you want him to be. Name-calling bullies are what we used to call people like Trump. Now you all call him a Patriot and a True American. BS. Trump is only out for Trump. More power is what he craves. And you are all fools for following this monster.

I'm not sure Bruce. Like many things he says, there are little in the way of details. I was just adding on to what you were saying (other things Donald has said) that he “will do” which sounds “too good to be true”.

Trump got more conservative votes in NH and SC, and Nevada than Cruz, and got more “evangelical” votes than Cruz. The cast has been set on the Apostle Teddy. He’s liar who’ll say anything for a vote and has no shot whatsoever at winning the nomination. So quick, name me one of the 49 senators he works with that’s endorsed him? Let me do if for you. Not a one. Not a single one. If that don’t tell anybody with a brain that no one has has any use for Cruz nothing will.

Is this a Popularity contest? I don’t give a squirt what member of the senate endorses Cruz. Most of them are RINOs anyways. As for the SC primary, I guess you can fool all the people all of the time. Amazing what sound bites and personal insults can do. He has offered no detailed plans. nothing, nada, zip.
Now, can you name one thing in Trumps past that would tell anyone he has Conservative leanings. not talking like in the last three months, I mean a year ago. he said Romney lost because he was too tough on illegals Now he wants to build a wall. He was for abortion, now he is against abortion. He has expressed that nobody needs Semi-auto rifles and now he sounds like Rambo. Whichever position gets him votes is the one he chooses.
You mark my words, if Trumps gets elected, we are doomed as a republic. If you love Obama using fed agencies to settle scores with people who oppose him, you are going to have a orgasm with trump. he is a petty man and will seek revenge on anyone who spoke ill of him. How can I say that, Look at his past. lawsuits, threats and the like is Trumps stock and trade. And with the full weight of the FEDGOV on his side, he will be even worse.
Trump is not sane. Nothing anyone can say can convince me otherwise. And if Trump gets the nomination and on election day, I wont be voting for him. My conscience wont allow it.

Where’s Mike Lee’s and Jeff Sessons endorsement, or Rand Paul? If Cruz is so qualified to be president why hasn’t these three very conservative senators endorsed him? Cruz brags about all the great things Mike Lee and Sessons say about him. Where’s their endorsement??????????????????
