guy you agree with 80% of the time.

Funny, Reagan said much the same thing. Success in politics is more :”art of the Deal”: then ideological holy war.

Reagan appointed people he could get stuff done with, he did not go to war with every Republican who did not line up with 100% of his views. He told the Reagan Democrats, hey you all agree with me on 60% of the stuff vs. Carter and Mondale and he got their votes, this were blue collar and ethnic Catholic voters that historically had voted democrat, Reagan won a majority of the white ethnic Catholic vote and brought in a bunch of new people into the Republican party. I was one of those, American of Italian ancestry and Catholic, although I probably agreed more like 80 to 90% with Reagan.

These folks that use labels are fools, because none of these politicians in Washington give a hoot, they say this one is too Conservative, this one is not Conservative enough only to get “votes”. What I like about Trump is he is not beholding to the RNC. He can work with Conservatives, Moderate Republicans and more so than the other guys, he can I think attract Reagan Democrats and independents and correct some of not only Obama’s collectivism, but also put to effect some of things Pat Buchanan talked about years ago, such as these Free trade deals are part of Elite Class of Politicians (Bill Clinton and George Bush both signed them) and Wall street for them to make money at the expense of our fellow Americans jobs.

I have no problem with Free Trade, but what we have going on is damn near criminal. We sign trade deals with countries, their Governments deliberately devalue their currencies vs. the U.S. Dollar, US firms in those industries have goods from Mexico, China, Japan come in at prices well below what U.S. Companies not because US companies don’t make good products or that we can’t, it is just these countries do this crap and the US. Government does nothing to stand up to them. You sign a trade deal with a country and their Government deliberately devalues their currency vs. the US Dollar, then you put a crap load of tariffs on those goods to bring the price back to what was before the intervention by the other Country.

If currencies weaken and strengthen against each other due to market forces, that is ok. but not this stuff Mexico, China, Japan etc. have been doing since the Clinton era.

So call me one of these voters sick of the political class, ALL OF THEM hence my vote for Trump.

Exactly, and nobody ever hammers the late great President on that fact.

Futhermore, every morning, he had a cup of coffee with the late Tip O’Neil, the old Labor Union Irish Catholic Democrat from Boston and they liked each other and then went back to work. Maybe Reagan did not get 100% of what he wanted when TIP was SOH but he was able to get much done. Maybe TIP was a secret Reagan democrat, who knows. Of course times were different then and the democrat party had not been totally taken over by radical collectivists.
