Trump Tells Ricketts Familty to Stop Spending Against Him .. Or Else
American Spectator ^ | February 22, 2016 | Emily Zanotti

...

[T]he Ricketts family, have come under fire from Donald Trump on Twitter, for their contributions to Our Principles PAC - a Team Romney-led effort designed to handicap Trump in primary states. Marlene Ricketts, wife of Joe Ricketts, founder of TD Ameritrade, has contributed around $3 million, so far, to help air ads attacking Trump in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina. And Trump is none too happy about it.

"I hear the Rickets family, who own the Chicago Cubs, are secretly spending $'s against me," Trump tweeted. "They better be careful, they have a lot to hide!"

For starters, the money spending isn't exactly secret - it's available for Trump's viewing pleasure on Open Secrets, and in the Our Principles PAC SEC filings. It's also no secret that the Ricketts are conservative. Prior to financing the campaign to depose the self-proclaimed Republican frontrunner, the Ricketts financed Gov. Scott Walker's short-lived campaign, and have contributed to everyone from Texas Gov. Rick Perry, to Sens. Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz, to Gov. Chris Christie, Sen. Lindsey Graham, and former Gov. Jeb Bush. They are one of the few large donor families making big spends against Trump this cycle - at least, so far. And while there isn't much data on whether the ads were successful, they appear to have at least gotten under Trump's skin (which is, admittedly, not that hard to do).

But what's really strange here is what Donald Trump is threatening to do should Ricketts resist his social media plea for satisfaction: according to Trump himself, the Ricketts family should prepare to be publicly smeared, all for the petty crime of being the political opposition. Donald Trump isn't owed a coronation, or the unqualified allegiance of the GOP's feudal lords.

He has Millions in debt to many Wall Street Biggies.

Oy, the lack of business knowledge is sore lacking with you.

Banks who finance on that level have a self interest in seeing their client succeed, he is not "beholden" to them

He supported bailing them out once..... After all They ate his over leveraged Sub Prime loans.

Is that a desperate attempted slight?

Even if it's true, business is a risk, sometime they're successful, sometimes they are not. If you don't know, it's what the country was built on.

Did you ever hear of the guy who invented WD-40?

Do you know why it's called that?

It's because he failed 39 time to get the right formula, his 40th attempt he got it right.

How many time did Edison fail?

The point is, Trump has run or started over 400 operations, 4 of them had problems, how about you?

Say what you will, but that is an outstanding business record.

It’s individualism when Trump does it. It’s crony capitalism for everyone else.

It's also the reality of today, until it get changed.

Trump early one said it was one of the problems in this country he feels need to be addressed.

If he gets elected, let's hope he can do something to change it.

Tell that to the people he screwed out of money in Trump university and before you go pushing your trump BS read the Donnie deposition. You're boy Donnie is DIRTY. he is a shyster of the highest magnitude.

When you get done look up that little problem Donnie had with that Female reporter that had to file a restraining order to keep the creep from her.

After your done with that look up his treatment of that Beaufiful Family over seas he completely smeared and harassed to get a clear view of the ocean from his golf course.

If after all that Ron, you decide to support that Lying, Adultering, scheming, smearing, crooked, shyster of a Stalker you go right ahead. But the shame is on you. Because that is exactly what your going to get in him as the President.

Myself I have started and sold several businesses. Small but still they were successful. NEVER did I have to engage in anything comparable to the disgusting actions of Trump in the above named activities.

So you have a wonderful day idolizing that creep.

Never said they were, I am more upset with the principle at stake. Under this principle a President Trump would be able, and willing to use the authority and power of the government to punish anyone who opposes him. I have no illusions that anybody anti Trump is automatically pro Cruz. I was born in the morning, but not this one. lol

But not enough right to deserve election. Electing him would be what Moynihan called Defining Deviancy Down.

“Trump is throwing some desperately needed sunlight on this as a disinfectant to a seriously corrupt system. “

Totally agree, Buckeye McFrog.
I can’t believe Freepers aren’t supporting shining a light on deceit in politics. It seems Unfreepsmanlike.

Take the fight to them, Donald! Trump’s a fighter, finally, a GOP candidate who fights.
It shocks you to see someone fighting back?

I am seriously saying that the media deserve an Academy Award for pretending opposition to TRUMP!!! while slavishly serving him 24/7/365. IIRC, you once belonged to YAF. I was a state chairman for several years. You should know better than to side with TRUMP!!!

Did you not write this:

“I’m fed up with the wealthy controlling elections for their own interest “

And then write this:

“Wow, I never thought I’d see the day here on FR where one is held in contempt for pursuing their own self interest”

And of course the answer is yes, you wrote the first quote in post 104 of this thread, and then the 2nd quote in post 151 of this thread.

So which is it?

So you are recommending that Conservatives so wipe out TRUMP!!!

Well, ok, but the thing is, Conservatives don't grasp that concept. They never have, because the "Conservative" wing has become milquetoast. Neither hot nor cold. And they continue to roll over for the left on every issue.

Trump DOES get it, and he WILL wipe out the rest, because unlike "Conservatives" and the GOP, Trump is a winner.

Bill Planned Barrenhood Gates is hardly a conservative model either. Did business interests dictate his agreement with Warren Buffett to leave their estates to the babykillers? The concern is that whatever TRUMP!!! may say to tickle our ears, he is no better than they.

#171 don’t expect any logic to play any part in this discussion with Trump Supporters. They simple can not excuse who or what he is.

It’s all about being on a winning team. Even if its a Liberal team. Goooooooooo Team!

The difference is pursuing ones own self interest vs buying people who have power over others to aid you in your own self interest at the expense of others.

IOW, your self interest ends when it violates my ability to pursue mine.

Did Trump contribute to politicians who did that?

Probably, but not for reasons other then to keep them off his back.

The system is not perfect by any stretch, I am speaking of people or groups who buy politicians who want to destroy this country as you and I know it.

That is what I meant.

Another committee member of the "Conservatives for Hitlery" I see. I hear she's pretty happy with all the Conservative support she's receiving these days.

I’m not trying to suggest he is any kind of model, I merely cited him as an example of what happens when you refuse to participate in the political arena....like hiring lobbyist in DC or else get anti trust suite filed against you.
