Apparently Rush & Levin were meant to squash Trump, then Rubio & the Democrats could beat Cruz 60-40 in the open primaries.

Sounds like Bret Stephens is another metrosexual "offended" by The Donald:

Bret's woman asked him to move on - to Bernie Sanders...

Bret the Metrosexual: "After graduation, Stephens studied political philosophy at the University of Chicago. He earned a master's in comparative politics from the London School of Economics."

Fracking Ivory Tower girly-man. He's going to skit his little girl skanties when Trump is sworn in next January. :)

Yes, that usually works, but in this particular case, no.

People sure have wild imaginations.

Levin and probably Rush (I don’t listen to him as much) did not seek to cheat and bully their way by manipulating the masses. They gave everyone a chance to make their case; and over time, certain things have become clear. The candidates needed to be vetted by listening to them and studying their records, words and actions. Every fair minded person sees the primary season as a process. Some see it as an opportunity to manipulate voters (like the MSM).

At this point some campaigns want to smear anyone who disagrees with them. That says a lot more about them than it does about anything else.

Just think ('cause you're A Thinker)!

At the end of the month, you'll have been on Free Republic for a WHOLE THREE WEEKS!

And if you wouldn't have been mouthy, I would have given you your "lost" source html for your Trump vanity article hitpiece. :)

ACT wrote [on his "lost" thread]: I support and believe in Ted Cruz as the only consistent, principled conservative in the race who has proven he's willing to fight the party establishment on behalf of our values. He's definitely the only one I trust choosing a suitable Scalia replacement on the Supreme Court. I plan on offering more threads on reasons why I oppose Donald Trump but after I start one on my positive reasons for supporting Ted Cruz.

Yeah, I still got your html source, dimwit. :)

Jeez. Rush and Levin can’t do all of the GOP’s dirty work. If the Republicans were fielding candidates more worthy of the office, Trump wouldn’t even be in this.

Trump is saying all the right things without fear. How are Rush and Levin supposed to counter that? They say that themselves all the time! Most of the candidates were neutered by their party and the media long ago. Trump hasn’t been touched by either and that’s part of the reason he’s doing so well.

Above all, the Trump candidacy was supposed to serve its purpose as a truck bomb against the "GOP Establishment"–namely, Republicans in Congress who don't think repeatedly shutting down the government is a smart political tactic; editorial pages, this one especially, that believe in immigration reform and think the GOP can only win as a party of aspiration and inclusion, not fences and deportation; and anyone else who thinks it's enough to fault Barack Obama for being a lousy president without also accusing him of being a sworn enemy of the United States.

Repeatedly shutting down the government? I'm not aware that there was any advocacy to repeatedly shut down the government but it is clear that the Republican establishment repeatedly and cravenly submitted to Obama.

A smart political tactic? It did not seem to hurt the Republicans when Newt Gingrich did it and it did not seem to hurt the Republicans went Ted Cruz did it. When one party increases its majorities by shutting down the government, shutting down the government seems to be a very smart political tactic.

That believe it immigration reform? The Wall Street Journal has been notorious for years for being for open borders. One could suppose that is some sort of reform.

Aspiration and inclusion? The whole point is that the middle class is out of work and demoralized because, or at least partly because, the Republicans have seconded the Democrats in including unlimited illegal immigrants.

Without accusing him of being a sworn enemy of the United States? It is not enough merely to accuse Obama of being a lousy president, he is a lousy president because he is a sworn enemy of the United States. The Republican establishment does not want to talk about it, just as Donald Trump does not want to talk about it, but the problem in the United States today is not competence but ideology. Our nation is floundering because we are operating under the wrong ideology.

At worst Mark Levine might be accused of bad timing in waiting too long to unmask Trump but certainly not of bad policy, bad ideology, or bad motive.
