To: Behind Liberal Lines

I’m on the fence regarding organ donation after reading material from a prolife group a few years ago. Organs must be harvested while the person is still alive-at the moment a person dies an enzyme is released that makes the organs unusable. How can we be absolutely sure the patient will never recover? This story is just one more that makes me wonder if we are playing God.

I don’t think that process is all that fast or there would never be any transplants. There have probably been some horrible mistakes which thank God was averted in the above story but for most people dead is dead. In the interest of full disclosure i am on a waiting list for a kidney. If i thought living people like in the above story were being harvested i’d chose death.
