It is not a change. He has said that all along. They are picking at the “round up” part and trying to paint it as going door to door dragging people out to buses or something. Cruz has planned ways to end the motivation for them to come and to stay. When they are found, they will be deported. Always. There will be no door to door search.
If there was a great big earthquake near a prison and all the prisoners escaped everyone would say we need to round them all up. It would, however, take time.
Or let me see....we arrest all drunk drivers. All of them. But we can’t post police at every bar and nab all of them all at once. Same goes for any category of lawbreaker.
There is so much parsing on this issue that it is just crazy. Enforce the laws. Deport the lawbreakers. Support a civil society that has true allegiance to this country and not one here to gain financially, break our immigration laws and retain allegiance to another country. It is not complicated. To reward them and treat them as innocent victims is to insult and degrade what it means to be a U.S. citizen.
Even Ike didn’t have people going door-to-door, as far as I know.
Correct. Cruz supports, and has supported, enforcing the existing laws. This is nothing new.

Poor analogy! Drunks, who are still inside the bar, haven’t broken the law. Not so with illegal aliens, they are fair game anywhere anytime. During WWII we were able to round up all the Japanese, we just need the will to do it. And I get a little tired of this BS about “due process” for the illegals. They don’t get due process because they are not citizens. How do you go to court to challenge a visa overstay?
