Donald Trump Bashes Ted Cruz for Missed Vote: 'So Important to Audit the Federal Reserve'

GOP frontrunner Donald Trump went after GOP rival Sen. Ted Cruz for missing a Senate vote on a bill that would have audited the Federal Reserve.

"It is so important to audit The Federal Reserve, and yet Ted Cruz missed the vote on the bill that would allow this to be done," Trump posted on Twitter on Monday afternoon.

Cruz missed a vote on legislation in the Senate that reportedly would have audited the Federal Reserve, as the Guardian noted, as did former Rep. Ron Paul to campaign for his son Sen. Rand Paul.

Paul referenced Cruz's missed vote, previously telling Iowans, "That's not the type of leadership we need in the White House."

Ben Jacobs, a reporter for the British newspaper The Guardian, reported Cruz has attempted to gather support from libertarian minded Republicans. "However, by skipping the vote on auditing the Fed, Cruz risks jeopardizing some of the credibility he has built in [the libertarian] faction of the Republican party. Auditing the Federal Reserve has long been an animating cause of Paul and his supporters and it has taken on major symbolic significance," Jacobs wrote.

No one who wasn’t paying attention until six months ago, anyways.

Sure it is. But Rubio is ascending, the GOPe is consolidating and all of those PACs and big corporate donors are going to be giving copiously to Marco.

If Trump continues 'competing' in this manner we will soon all be looking at the real possibility of the establishment grabbing the nomination.

The difference with Trump and Republicans that demand the Fed be audited is that TRUMP WILL AUDIT THEM.

If I were in the Fed, I’d make sure that Tahiti bungalow allowed me to stay permanently.

The Fed, with ex-nihilo creation of money, and charging US citizens rent for using "their" money,

How much does the Fed charge you? Do you mail them a check? If you hold two $20s, do they charge you twice as much as if you only hold one?

i can see where you are coming from.

Super Tuesday will settle a lot of the smoke.

Trumps numbers will not allow him to do anything other than fight it out alone. He is ALL IN for himself...and I can’t blame him.

I know what you mean ..I never was a big fan of Trump until he started in on BO’s birth certificate several years ago ..and then he ran this time and blew me away ...I know he’s genuine , because he doesn’t have to do this at all ..he’s pissing off a lot of powerful people which is total proof that he is genuine ...

You’re not the only one ... Trump has gone all in ... I take solace in the fact of the new media - everyone has a smartphone in their hand ... I just hope Trump doesn’t take any hunting trips to Texas, if you catch my drift ...

I was really hoping it would be a Trump/Cruz showdown in the end.

I would think Trump would want that, too. Since the big money is behind Rubio. But maybe he's not the political genius some have made him out to be.

Exactly! the wife and i were drooling at the dream ticket that would be.

I think it’s still possible...just unlikely...and it doesn’t have the same appeal anymore.

I'm not even talking about a Trump Cruz ticket. I'm talking about the two of them being the last two standing in primary.

But As Trump continues to attack Cruz the GOPe's boy gains steam.
