US presidential elections have the lowest participation rate almost anywhere in the democratic world: Swedish general election (2014) 85.8 per cent; New Zealand general election (2014) 73.2 per cent; French presidential election (2012) 71.2 per cent; Irish general election (2011) 63.8 per cent; US presidential election (2012) 53.6 per cent.

My take: It's landslide or loose.
Good article.
French elections are on Sunday. Just saying.
landslide or hangin loose?
Yeah, but all those other countries are very small. Percentages aren’t the best way to think of it.
Overall, millions upon millions more participate than the entire population of Sweden and New Zealand.
I’ve also contended that anyone that can get maybe just 10% of those eligible to vote and don’t or don’t register to vote for them, they’d win in a landslide.
Trump might get some of them excited. Or even Bernie gets some. But do they have a ground game to make sure they get registered and vote?
Long-term demographics are working against the GOP.
And the GOP establishment’s solution is commit suicide to make the Left happy.
We’re likely to see Democratic Presidents in perpetuity if Trump doesn’t win this year.
As I always post
every year 2.6 million (mostly white, majority R) voters die
and are replaced by
2.7 million (majority minority, heavily D) voters
A difficult trend to fight
Could you elaborate?
Sorry, landslide or *lose*. Either way, typing slower might help. :)
What may save conservatism is national bankruptcy and the halting of the gravy train. Maybe the country will split and conservatives will have someplace to go.
Or if he does win...
Yeah, we may have the lowest turnout, but we by far have the highest deceased participation rate in the world
When are those lazy dead conservatives gonna get up from their dirt naps and perform their public duty and vote!?!
> Could you elaborate?
Well, I would only be echoing what I got from the article. He speaks of the Reagan landslide and how the electoral path has shifted, and not in favor of GOP. Typical tactics of the last few election cycles are increasingly favoring Rats. The true path to victory is to turn over the whole apple cart and inspire voters to come out in record numbers, which is the opposite of what Romney could muster. A landslide is the best path to victory, and only two currently running could pull it off. Trump and Sanders.
Conservative organizations are fighting the good fight to allow conservatives to have a fair chance at university jobs.
Conservatives are making movies and occasional TV programs.
Conservatives who have trouble finding work, may end up as high school or elementary school teachers, etc.
The computer gaming industry seems to have its share of libertarians. It would be better if they were conservative, but libertarian is definitely a few steps above liberal and miles above socialist.
Even if Fox News is not as conservative as it once was, it is still a breath of fresh air compared to NPR (there’s a pun in there somewhere), not to mention all the conservative talk shows on radio and cable.
Steyn asserts that Trump will get the majority of these other guy’s supporters when they drop out but I don’t know how he figures that. I can see the Cruz supporters who are willing to go over to the Trump side do it very soon as the Rubio Bush-bump becomes apparent in the polls. After that, I don’t think Trump gets the majority of the rest, but I do think he gets enough.
Sadly, as the last two presidential elections demonstrate, the U.S. has more voters who are traitors than it has voters who are patriots. That does not bode well for the future of the U.S.
Interesting read. I feel sorry for the young people in our country who will someday have their votes nixed out by the flood of illegals imported by the Uniparty.
Well that’s just depressing....
