After disappointing finishes in presidential nominating contests in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina, Jeb Bush suspended his campaign for president Saturday night.
It was the end of a run that had seemed doomed for months: countless gaffes, merciless attacks from the likes of Donald Trump, seemingly limitless spending from a superPAC he couldn't control with horrible returns from those investments and perhaps above all, a candidate who seemed uncomfortable on the trail at best, and at worst, frustrated and unhappy.
Already, the post-mortems are almost writing themselves.

In a decidedly anti-establishment year, his last name was not an asset.
Because he sucks.
Or sucked. Adios, mofo! Don’t come back.
Poorly run campaign with a weak candidate who was wrong on the issues.
Only an intellectual dipwad would even contemplate the need for such an article. Said differently, that some intellectual dipwad even imagines there being a need to discuss Jebbolina’s Kabuki Kardashian Kandidacy©, that just shows what a dipwad they truly are.

That and the fact his two preceding relatives left such enormous messes behind.
George HW Bush virtually singlehandedly destroyed the Reagan Revolution with his compromises with Democrats.
Breaking his tax pledge was the primary reason why Clinton won.
If Trump is eventually knocked out of the race due to Cruz throwing his support to little Marco Amnesty for the AG job, we can at least thank Trump for ending the quarter century of establishment rule by the Bushes. But never forget Rubio is the hispanic version of GW Bush. An open borders, globalist warmonger of the first degree, controlled by special interests.
Anti-establishment mood in both parties, especially among republicans.
Anti-dynasty mood in the republican party.
Illegal immigration is “an act of love” in a year in which illegals have reached crisis levels.
A complete absence of talent as a candidate - his support was lower among those who saw his speeches or ads than among those who knew nothing about him.
Why did Bush lose? All above the above, and more.
Jeb lost because of his strong support for amnesty for illegal aliens.
And, if that wasn't disqualifying (and it is), then Jeb's support for Common Core sealed the DQ.
BTW, Jeb's last name didn't bother me. I have respect for the Bush family (nobody is perfect, and we may not always agree, but who does?)
.
Very simple:
The citizens do not share his love of Mexico and Mexicans and do not want their country turned into North Mexico.
The ‘Acts of love’ comment drove a stake through him. How dumb can he be? We do things for people everywhere all the time and he is trying to shame the American people. Glad he is gone.
Yep. Wrong candidate, wrong timing, wrong zeitgeist. And a staff that let him walk into every pothole on the road.
1. He ignored the base.
2. He has the last name Bush.
3. He couldn’t handle Trump.
He could’ve done something about 1 & 3.
“Why Did Jeb Bush Lose?”
IMO, he lost because he appeared weak — No one is embracing weakness this election cycle. And no one I know wants to hear any candidate talking about “reaching across the aisle.”
GDit, we have had three election cycles in a row where the right won the house and the senate and GDit they were supposed legislate as if they won...and they didn’t.
This cycle we want a fighter, and someone that will kick the dog walking $hit out of their opponent — No more being nice. FIGHT!!! “Lead, follow, or get the “F” out of the way.”
Perry’s ‘heartless’ comment destroyed him. And on the same subject! Immigration is the new third rail.
He felt it was his coronation time and he didn’t have to give much thought to what was going on with the voters. Hence his brilliant decision that he could win “without the base.”....meaning he was more in tune with rinos and sucking up to foreigners, and would not have to pretend to be interested in anything remotely conservative
