Where are the padded walls, straight-jackets, and men in white suits? Because NR has completely become unhinged.

Nice ad hominem attack. Why don't you try to address the substance of the article? Trump, the "champion of the common man" has demonstrated repeatedly and in several countries that he has no problem destroying the "common man" in order to get what he wants. But his supporters somehow think that will magically change if he is elected president.

“Those laws do not protect your property outside of the US.”

Yet, your right to property doesn’t cease, whether the laws of the US protect you or not.

"There is a difference between legal and right however. Slavery was legal at one point but it wasn’t right.

Agreed. The answer is simple, change the law. The Supreme Court currently disagrees with your position. You can also influence the implementation of the law at the local level, where most of these decisions occur. Do it.

I never claimed Trump "thirsts for" anything. I never claimed anything "drives him" or "he's obsessed with" anything. Why do you guys always make up a bunch of shit before you evhhen start to make a point?

I said he strongly believes in the power of government to make rich men richer. And he does. He used to buy politicians, by his own bragging account, to manipulate the system to his advantage. He's proud of this.

Now he wants to be the politician he used to buy. It will probably work out well for him, but why others believe they will vicariously benefit from the new largess he grants himself is beyond me.

That, or if you actaully believe that using ED in such a way is wrong or that private property actually has value, you don’t participate. There’s plenty of money to be made in real estate and outside of it without having to resort to using the force of government to take property away from people for yourself.

You are absolutely correct in your original post. No US President has ever dreamed of stealing any private property to build a golf course.

I was just pointing out that Clinton and Obama, like Mr Trump, support crony capitalism by stealing private property and giving it to developers. I.e., Kelo. None have been audacious enough to use it for a golf course (per your original post), but they and Mr Trump do support stealing property for their crony capitalist buddies.

Thank you for providing another example of how Clinton and Obama abuse government power to enrich their crony capitalist buddies.

I understand your point of view. I see it slightly different. Cities are under the gun financially. They look out at a part of their city that is despicable, run down, generating no revenue and disproportionately running up costs. They want to redevelop to make the area an asset. They condemn and contact developers for bids. Revenue is increased. City survives. If it is road that's needed, if they can take the political heat, they bulldoze homes. They pay. Happens all the time. Gov't says they have to have a fair price, which I think means market price. Not my first choice, but some form of this has happened since the early days of the country that predate the Constitution. It has been litigated to the Supreme Court and upheld. Not on the top of my list in candidate shopping.

Nice ad hominem attack.

Thanks. I learned it from YOU guys. You can't explain or rationalize Trump's popularity so you have to destroy him. NR has had Trump in the crosshairs since he announced back in June.

So there's no need for me to deconstruct any article who's sole objective it is to destroy Trump. Hence the ad hominem.

This is what you originally said:

“Donald Trump strongly believes in the power of government to make rich men richer. He doesn’t believe in reducing the size and power of government. He believes in making it more powerful and under his command.”

Just how do you claim to know that? He has never been in government. He has sought all his life to gain money and power through business enterprises.

He has not sought to cram his beliefs about government down anyone’s throat for 69 years. What indications do you have that all that has suddenly changed?

He has plainly explained that he has paid off politicians to leave him along and not try to mangle his affairs. He has a lot of money. That attracts all kinds of attention. Some good, some not.

“A believer in limited government does not use eminent domain to take land for a golf course. “

Gee, I wished that all our country’s troubles were simply a matter of the appropriateness of the use of eminent domain. I mean it’s a rampant problem (s).

Yeah, and the National Review’s uniparty has shipped out our jobs, collapsed the middle class, spent us into servitude, allowed an invasion of foreigners into the country (many criminal and muslim), violated and disparaged the constitution in every way and have not offered an agenda for reform in decades.

Screw the interNational Review.
