Carson is staying in, come heck or high water as an in-your-face to Cruz. Cruz’s campaign tried to take Carson out with a dirty trick in Iowa. Yes, Cruz apologized....sorta.....after the damage was done. Cruz even tried to turn Carson around with a meeting in a broom closet last week. Carson didn’t buy it. If Cruz has repented, he should demonstrate it by cutting out the malarkey.

But since then, the Cruz campaign hasn’t straighted up and been honorable. Word has it that the Cruz campaign has continued with dirty tricks all week long in SC, with push polls, etc. Yeah, everybody does it....if they’re a lowlife politician. But if they are Deacon Ted they don’t. They make their case to the voters, they forbid their team to do dirty tricks, and then pray for God’s blessing, and trust God for the outcome.

So Carson has made up his mind that Cruz ain’t getting any more of his supporters, if he can prevent it. He has a right to do that. Cruz will reap what he sows, just surely as you or I will.

As Buchanan supporter in ‘96, Alan Keyes (Bill Kristol’s roommate at Harvard) did the same thing to Pat that Carson is doing to Cruz. He’s not going anywhere; follow the money.

I don’t know myself. I just wonder why he would seize on Carson alone (the bottom three are pretty close). Maybe he thinks Carson’s presence in the race reminds voters of Cruz’s duplicity in Iowa.

I think Jeb bailing is a godsend for Boobio. Jeb’s votes will go to Boobio and thereby end Cruz’ chances. Carson getting out might have a similar effect, so I hope Carson stays in at least until Super Tuesday.

Yer onto something
but you forget that Ted did nothing wrong.

His Campaign only reported what CNN reported that Carsons campaign SAID

I agree there could be behind the scenes deals afoot. I have no problem with him staying in. It is his campaign’s money, not mine. And if the votes he siphons off are a way to help another candidate behind the scenes, then that is just strategy. More power to him for leveraging his also-ran spot for something in return, if that is what it is.

Most evangelicals home school

70% of the voters in SC are reportedly evangelicals.

Most of them home school?

I don't think so.

+++

One thing though, it can be said with great confidence that nearly every one of those voters is concerned about jobs and illegal immigration.

And Muslims.

There is only one candidate speaking out loudly and often about all three of those things.

++++

What is odd is that those subjects were on the minds of voters long before Trump came along, and yet, not one candidate, including Cruz, picked up on that.

Only Trump is in touch with the American voter.

I agree. While his chances do not look promising, his campaign receiving an unfair blow in Iowa, he might keep going because he wants to promote certain issues. He has made several good points.

I don’t believe Leon Wolfe is a thoughtful person, therefore it just doesn’t pay to figure out what moves him - other than the obvious, he is shilling for Cruz. And next time around, he’ll shill according to who he is told or paid to shill for.

Carson has NO chance but he greatly diminishes Cruz.

THAT'S what makes this all so unfair.

Back when Cruz hurt Carson, at least Cruz had a chance.

Perhaps Red State wants Cruz because he is a Conservative?

I don’t find it odd.

Evangelicals have been voting for Mr. good-guy for decades. What have they gotten in return?

W ran on he evangelical vote. Did abortion improve? No. Did gay marriage improve? No. Did the supreme court improve? No (Roberts save ObamaCare).

Evangelical, like many others, have realized we’ve reached the edge of the cliff. And if we don’t do something about a few issues, we’re done.

I’ve called this the ITT election—Immigration, Trade, Terrorism.

If we don’t get those three back on track, we’re screwed.

Prior to Trump getting into the race, Cruz was wobbly on the 1st two (immigration and trade).

No person in Carson's position who is even of average intelligence would conclude that the South Carolina results mean that he has as good a chance going forward as Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio.

Many candidates continue to run long after it's become clear that they have no hope of winning the nomination. They do this for many reasons - among them, they wish to continue to represent and champion the views of their followers, and make sure those views are acknowledged and hopefully adopted by the presumptive nominee and by the party.

And we're not even to Super Tuesday yet. Carson may or may not have a hope of winning, but he has every right to continue running - no candidate is anywhere close locking up the delegate count needed for nomination. Calls for Ben Carson or any other candidate to withdraw are severely premature.

There’s no guarantee that Carson’s or Bush’s supporters would even show up to vote. They may be so disappointed their guy dropped out they might not vote in the primary at all.

For a man that has no staff and no chance. of winning the race to be soliciting funds to run is unethical. To be doing it by direct mail is untraceable.

I think you may have miiissed the point.

Dear Wolf the Hysteric,

After Iowa, Carson people are not going to go to Cruz. Please stop lying to your audience that the only reason your political god Cruz is losing is because of Carson. Add Carson votes to Cruz and YOU STILL lose to Trump.
