Good pics, DeoVin. My dad was an OB-GYN who practiced in the 50s, 60s, 70s, and early 80s. He retired earlier than he'd planned because the government was interfering more and more with his treatment of patients. Also, as our culture changed his patients changed. The hardworking women married to blue-collar, working husbands began to be replaced by younger, unmarried, unemployed women with drug and alcohol addictions who got pregnant repeatedly, ignored their doctors' medical advise, and had difficult pregnancies and deliveries. Sometimes the babies were born addicted, or damaged by their mothers' behavior. In our increasingly litigious culture, the mothers had no difficulty finding lawyers who explained to them that it was all the doctors' and hospitals' faults. My dad retired before he could be sued into bankruptcy.
Single-payer, socialized, whatever you call it--it's a death trap for many people and destruction for the doctors who try to provide medical care. No politician who EVER supported it will get my vote.
