The only consolation I can see here for Ted is that SC is an open primary state, and I think he would have done a lot better if it had been closed instead.

And so is his home state of Texas. He should do well. Here is a layout of how the
delegates are awarded in Texas.

Texas allocates 155 delegates based upon the 36 Congressional district results,
3 per district and 47 statewide based upon statewide results. It is more nuanced than
that but that’s the general method.
