Yes. He needs them to split the vote. When 2 out of every 3 voters vote against him, that says something important. The 2 out of every 3 will vote for his opponent - the NOT-Trumnp candidate.
Normally it’s not that way, but when you look into polling internals that is what is happening. Rubio is most people’s #2. Cruz is right behind Rubio on that list. Trump is no one’s #2 pick. So Cruz has all the voters he will ever get. Keep in mind in open Primaries Trump is getting the most voters he will ever get. So come the general election Trump has no more voters to pull in. It will be interesting to see how many votes Hillary gets compared to Trumps in SC.
