How former clear thinking Freepers can be so snake-fascinated with this glorified carnival barker is beyond me.
Trump is a fraud and the fact that he is as popular as he is proves that a third of the American populace can be convinced of anything.
Boo hoo.
Dismissing Trump as a carnival barker amazes me. He is a successful real estate developer and media guru. He’s beaten the corrupt politicians at their own game so far. I don’t understand why people aren’t thanking him for taking all the opprobrium from the media and GOPe on our behalf...
If he never entered the race, it would be politics as usual, and a guarantee we’d all lose in the end.
I grew up in a religious cult. It is perfectly understandable. People want a Messiah. People want to think that one man can change the world and Make America Great Again. It's all slogans and puffery. Underneath the Messiah's thin orange veneer is a wolf in sheep's clothing. A false prophet promising everything but delivering nothing.
Once someone puts their Faith in the arm of flesh, it takes more than facts and logic to sway them from their faith.
And about a third is all that Trump is going to pull. Just like nutjob Perot. I am convinced that if he doesn’t win the nomination he is going to run as an independent for sure. And like Perot giving us Bill Clinton he will give us Hillary, or crazy Bernie! A vote for Trump is a vote for the Dems!
Somewhere PT Barnum is laughing his butt off
I used to think republicans were smarter than democrats.
Could be.
But so far, the ranks of the Trumpastic true believers seem to be only about a third of the likely GOP primary voters, with the latter being maybe 30% to 35% of American voters in total.
Do those percentages translate into something like a majority for the General Election?
Very hard for me to imagine.
