Heard Rush go on about that. Silly people who do not recognize rhetoric and hyperbole for the shorthand it is. Trump is of an era where the culture was homogenous enough to understand dying in the street is not to be taken literally, but to mean all people who are not getting decent medical care for whatever reason. Geez.
Yes amihow, I must be silly. Actually I am from the west coast and remember the first time hearing a New Yorker talk. Specially with that New Yorker "attitude." Mostly thought to myself that they could go do something physically impossible. After a few years I began to understand it must be the cold weather that caused them to talk that way.
Your point that most people should recognize rhetoric, hyperbole and the shorthand it is . . . might be true to a certain point.
Obviously Trump has connected in many ways, but he is still not bringing it fully together specially with the following comment
TRUMP: Well, I like the mandate. Okay, so here's where I'm a little bit different. I don't want people dying on the streets. I say this all the time. The Republican people, they're wonderful people.
I am sorry amihow . . . who talks like that?
I don't get it and it makes me lose confidence in who he is and what he stands for.
“. Trump is of an era where the culture was homogenous enough to understand dying in the street is not to be taken literally, but to mean all people who are not getting decent medical care for whatever reason. Geez.”
If Trump were to talk about it raining cats and dogs, I’d experience Rush to have a monologue about how Trump doesn’t understand he weather works.
