I read that Mel Brooks got some negative feed back from studio execs at the time and was asked to remove certain elements/aspects and he said “Okay.” Left it intact and released it anyway. Good call. I don’t understand why the execs would be concerned about offending railroading buffs with regards to losing a rail car.
