OMG - what an interesting mind. Every 45 seconds I want to debate an issue...his ideas are connected, random and creative... I’m at the 49.5 point now...and going into overload...
I don’t believe the other candidates lack the wisdom or courage, but rather-they lack a fundamental insight that Trump doesn’t.
Professional politicians will never “get it” because no matter what, they are tainted by their lifelong public service. (Just as Trump is tainted by his own experiences.)
What does each candidate bring to the table that can motivate voters? (It sure isn’t ppl who are afraid to speak up.)
“The day Obama was inaugurated, he might have done a noble thing. He might have delivered an inaugural address in which he said: This nation used to be guilty of race prejudice, but today I can tell you that there is no speck of race prejudice in any corner of the government or the laws of this country, and that is an amazing achievement of which every American ought to be deeply proud. An individual American here or there is racist; but that’s his right in a free country; if he commits no crime, let him think and say what he likes. But I know and you know, and the whole world knows, that the overwhelming majority of Americans has thoroughly, from the heart, renounced race prejudice forever. So let’s have three cheers for our uniquely noble nationââ¬âand let’s move on tomorrow to fresh woods and pastures new.
But he didn’t.”
Second, however, is the far more insidious reason that the author ALMOST got right:
“The ironic name disguises the real nature of this force, which ought to be called invasive leftism or thought-police liberalism or metastasized progressivism.”
What the author missed is that “invasive leftism” and “thought-police liberalism” and “metastasized progressivism” are themselves, PC terms for our old enemy, TOTALITARIANISM. When you cut to the core of PC, you find that it originated among a bunch of (literal) communist university professors under the direction and influence of Joseph Stalin’s USSR. These guys and their first generation students (no doubt including at least a few of Obama’s professors) were true believers in totalitarianism - which seeks to utterly dominate the lives, down to the very thoughts, of all those whom it rules. That ideology, by the way, is FAR different than mere Authoritarianism, which seeks only to have you pay your taxes, have you (or your sons) serve when drafted into the armed forces or police, and to have you not be so disloyal as to even plot to revolt against the people in control - but it allows you to think or believe as you’d like because it doesn’t care about that. The Soviet Union was totalitarian. Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy were Authoritarian (of course, the Nazis were a special breed, having allowed the mental disease of racial/religious prejudice to rule their policies). Neither of these ideologies is in any way moral, but there is a distinct and meaningful way to distinguish them and call one worse. Unfortunately for us, those pushing PC in this country are ideologically in the Totalitarian camp, having swallowed that sick ideology hook, line and sinker.
Kudos to Trump for at least starting the reaction against PC and what it represents...but we need to go further. This is a multi-generation project, to cleanse our land of this sickness. It didn’t just arrive yesterday, and we won’t make it magically disappear tomorrow. This is a LONG battle, the most difficult one this country has or will ever face - and our national fate will be decided by this battle every bit as much as it was by the Revolutionary War or the Civil War.
