Former Secretary of State Colin Powell, appearing on the June 10, 2007, edition of "Meet The Press," reiterated and expanded on his claim that he was misled by unknown forces in the intelligence community who failed to reveal vital information to him before his infamous February 5, 2003, speech before the
So you base your accepted reality off what someone says.
Good luck with that.
What we found doesn’t require Bush or Colin Powell saying they exist to exist.
They are irrelevant to the existence of what we found.
You’ve known me an awful long time.
Obviously not.
Bush did NOT have our backs, Darksheare.
He didn’t.
He never stood up and defended the finding of WMDs in Iraq.
Not once.
Newsflash, nobody had our backs.
Not when I was in uniform, not now either.
And parroting the “we didn’t find WMD” is spitting in the face of everyone who ever wore the uniform.
And now that we have Barry Big Ears and the limp wrist brigade faggoting up the military, it is even worse.
Anyone who thinks Bush had our backs on finding WMDs is engaged in wishful thinking. I have held that view for years. I have been open on FR with it for years. Bush wouldn’t defend anything. It brought us Barack Obama.
You bet I’m bitter about it.
But, I have not called anyone names. I’ve not been impolite to them. Long time FRiends on FR or newbies, I’ve been more than a gentleman to them.
A soldier, once back in the day, knew he could count on the man to his right and left.
These days, not really with the politicizing of the ranks.
And, I know I cannot count on you either now.
Sorry, I do not know you.
I showed facts, you decided to predicate your reality on what someone said.
That’s self-serving to say that Darksheare. I have 24+ years in the military. I have kids in the military.
I don’t want them dying for these idiot politicians who are obviously not trying to win and who may never have been.
My point here from the outset has been simply that Trump did not make up his belief that Bush lied about WMDs out of thin air. Bush’s own secretary of state was saying he was deceived.
So, shoot me.
It was for the troops that carried it out, yes. Including Powell who aided in the initial coverup.
I always believed Lt Calley had justifiable reasons for what happened. I believed that our troops were being set up by complicit viet villages.
If a hospital is a staging area for the enemy in violation of the Geneva accords, would I bomb that hospital?
Yes, I would.
No, it isn’t self serving.
It is the truth.
I cannot count on you.
DESERT STORM

The Russians took control of Assad’s CW weapons in 2013
Had - correct.
For what?
You’re upset that I defended Trump?
To tell the truth.
That we did indeed find WMD as the facts show.
Every time you repeat the code pink “no WMD” lie, you spit in the faces of the soldiers injured by the sarin ied, and exposed to mustard gas.

They may have them but I haven’t seen any indication they have used them. BTW many of the items from the 80’s were deemed too dangerous to move and were left in place. If ISIS is messing around with those munitions they may well kill more of their own than enemy.
The only fact that is in dispute is whether you know what the following means: “show me the mark on the video clip at which Powell says Bush lied to him.”
Here is my tentative conclusion: you know what this means, and you know there is no such mark. But, I’ll go along with the gag that you don’t know what I’m asking for.
I cannot myself point to such a mark, because there is no such mark. But, I can point to the mark at which he says there were unidentified people within the intelligence community who should have waned him that the intelligence was suspect. This is the 0:50 mark of the following video:

Since the Secretary of State has intelligence assets of his own, this is not a condemnation of Bush, or of the Bush administration other than the Dept. of State. It is blaming of somebody else for a mistake he and others made.
Over at the Dept. of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld was also grappling with the intelligence reports. He too has intelligence assets. His people told him, “Our knowledge of the Iraqi (nuclear) weapons program is based largelyâperhaps 90%âon analysis of imprecise intelligence.” Rumsfeld circulated this among the Chiefs of Staff and decided to go with the intelligence reports.

The British government has its own intelligence resources. The support of the U.S. conclusion by Tony Blair was crucial, in that his assessment was more independent than that of the members of Bush’s cabinet. Blair, also, was mistaken.
Since you do not know the meaning of simple things like identify the mark on a video clip, it is possible that you don’t know the meaning of “lie.” It is probably a good thing that people of limited intelligence find somebody who could tell them what to believe, and I couldn’t really blame a person of limited intelligence as to whom they latch onto.
