Right now Trump has 17 and the winner will need 1,237.
Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada are just the prelims and are the warm up for the big uns.
Right now Trump has 17, Cruz 11, Rubio 10, Kasich 5, Bush 4, Carson 3.
Lots of ground, states and delegates to come.
No, winner take all does not start until March 15.
Just looked it up for S.C.
Winner gets 29 delegates
Remaining 21 are awarded 3 per congressional district to the winner of each district.
Based on Conway’s Tweet, Trump would win 45.
They all have flaws, and I think that all the GOP candidates are in a position to beat the Dem candidate; personally, I think Trump probably has the weakest chance because his overall negatives are so high and I think people are starting to tire of his schtick. Rubio appears to always have a % point or two edge over Cruz in these head-to-heads with Hillary or Bernie...I think it is because Rubio comes across better on television, smiles more, seems more personable. Of course, even though they are the same age, Rubio seems much younger than Cruz...that might be a concern for some folks because he might come off as not quite ready? Cruz comes off as more mature, but much colder and professorial in his presentation. He is not as likable...and that probably holds him back with some people. They are a contrast in styles, but either one would be a move in the right direction for the country!
The mystery will be solved in about 36 hours.
Wow, a well-reasoned, dispassionate analysis! Don’t you know that’s no longer allowed on FR?
