Speaking as someone who got thrown out of the Catholic Church be the Monsignor there when I was there to Marry a Catholic Girl. It required an interview, and I asked some questions about, some of the history of the Church. I did not have enough respect of the Poope. “out of my Church!”.
I said OK.
Heck, I got thrown out of Catholic School twice. The first time was in the second grade when I had the audacity to question the nuns' teaching that my non-Catholic friends would go to hell because they weren't Catholic. The second time was in 9th grade because I was "dating" a rabbi's son. Needless to say, I grew up believing that God was a vengeful and angry God that could never be satisfied or happy with me and definitely couldn't love me.
Thank God that He never gave up on me and I finally surrendered to Him much later in life.
